This is the Office of the Warlord for Term 2

It is currently described as follows.
The Office of Warlord

* The Warlord is responsible for all units other than settlers and workers.

An amendment is underway to clarify this however, and the discussion can be found at the following URL.

I will attempt to keep our Strategic information in this thread up to date. Also, anyone should feel free to make requests or ask questions in this thread.

Look in the info thread i think it has up to date info on our and oppenents strength

The next turnchat has been announced, please post your instruction before Monday 23 April 14.00 GMT.

If no instructions are posted, the DP is in charge of orders. Just for your information, this is what I will do if that happens:

Move 1 warrior from city #1 4N for fogbusting purposes.
Move 1 warrior from Equus Aurum North to fogbust south of the Lake of Indecision

Dutchfire,

I pretty much agree with your idea. However, I'm gonna give the save another look before posting my instructions. I'm currently at work, working night shifts till Monday, and I'm gonna try to give it a look over either after work, or this afternoon before heading in.

But you should get instructions one way or another in time.

Here's what I'm thinking...

I have the city #1 warrior 1 West of your proposal to give slightly better near the proposed Coppertown site.

I'm also reconcidering devoting our only "spare" defenders to Fog Busting right now... Lyons has 2 Axemen in them at the moment, and a city with just 1 Warrior defending it is easy pickings.... heck 2 warriors would still be easy... but slightly better odds.

I would agree. I'd suggest swapping the chariots with the warriors. Use the warriors as fog busters and the chariots for city defense. Granted, for cities deep within our borders and unreachable by barbs, chariots would not be needed IMO.

BTW, this is just my two cents, not an official suggestion.

I kind of agree, wary to move the Eastern Chariot just yet, just because of the fogbusting advantage in prep for Coppertown.

The Western Chariot on the other hand I have no problem recalling and replacing with a warrior. Also, I have requested more military production from all the Elders to try to refortify our defenses. We now have a barracks in both NotA and Equus Aurum which will increase the skills of the soldiers produced there.

I feel like we are now in a vulnerable position, especially after noticing Lyon's heavy defenses, I'm concerned it my be the start of a build up for a French invasion... and even if just those two Axemen started attacking I feel we'd be hard pressed right now to defend against them. Hopefully we can get Coppertown founded and hooked up ASAP so we can get production of our own Axemen.

What I typically do when swapping out my fog busters is to not move the current fb until the new unit gets there. This will cause my cities to be undefended for a few turns (possibly earning  citizens), but is best IMO to keeping the barbs at bay.

. . . I feel like we are now in a vulnerable position, especially after noticing Lyon's heavy defenses, I'm concerned it my be the start of a build up for a French invasion . . .

I'm pretty sure the two axemen were the escort for the French settler and are meant to be the French city's garrison and not an invasion force. However, I agree our military is thin and we need to build some defenders ASAP.

My primary point is... that one French city shows how vulnerable we are.

The Garrison for one city, would be able to defeat the garrisons for all of our cities...

Napoleon is also fairly agressive, and so even if it's not an actual build up, it shows that France is very liable to attack in the near future if we don't beef up our defenses.

One thing to remember for those like me who normally play Warlords, the Chariot vs Axe bonus doesn't exist in vanilla. Found that out the hard way in one of the "challenge" games.

I took the liberty of moving some chariots around to protect against any French threat.

Good that was my intent when recalling the Fog Buster Chariots.

We need next term to build our miltary I feel that we getting ever so slighty vulerable to attack from any of them.

I realize this, I last game session I asked Equus Aurum to focus on Chariot production, along with the other cities to try to get a few Archers in, because of the French threat (2 Axemen close to our territory and our weak forces). We still have a ways to go until I'm comfortable. However we should have a Copper mine hooked up to the trade network soon, and with Civil Service we can begin building Macemen, which will help give us an advantage.

Not to mention we should be getting HBR and Ironworking soon which should also help bolster our military production abilities.

If I'm not wrong, Macemen require iron and we haven't researched IW yet. If we don't have iron, its bad, as crossbows (the counter against macemen) require iron too. Plus knights wouldn't be available as well.

Time will tell.

No... Macemen require Iron or Copper... So we do have the resources.

There was one thing I did miss though...
Second tech requirement to build them, Machinery

I think that we should be able to launch a attack next term against the French, if we concentrate on some chariots and axes now. It won't be a big attack, just razing Lyons and the city near city #2, and perhaps capturing Orleans.
