Cause for war.
An immediate reason or excuse for war. For instance, in 1739, an English smuggler, a Captain Jenkins, appeared before the British Parliment and showed them his severed ear, which he claimed had been cut off by abusive Spanish customs officials who'd caught him smuggling. Pariliment was in a surly mood and declared war on Spain. This was "The War of Jenkins Ear", which quickly became part of the larger "War of the Austrian Succession," known to the British American colonies as "King George's War", one of the "French and Indian Wars" noted in our American history books.
Any excuse is a good excuse, apparently.
Thanks for the history lesson, Feodor. Anyone been taunted by a Frechman recently?
Strangely enough, yes I have.
As have I. OT is a dangerous place to be.
Lots of nasty ethnic abuse hitting the French lately. I'd rather avoid it.
I've actually seen two different forums on two entirely different subjects with exchanges on the subject of French military prowness, with someone making the usual insults and someone else, who actually knew more history, trying to correct them. Apparently a lot of Americans only remember the French defeat in WWII and a lot of British only remember Napoleon and Agincourt.
Meanwhile... In the demogame...
Actually, I was taunted in real life. Of course, he is a friend of mine...
@Eyrei - Any Forgien Plans you have planned for us .
Yes eyrei, I would also appreciate a description of Foreign plans, preferably in the turnchat thread.
We also don't have an ROP with Persia. Persia's lands have little rails, too. We could either gift them with coal and hope they build rails like crazy, or establish an embassy, sign an ROP and build rails in stategic locations.
I believe we can invoke a RoP Rape (Or something that I have heard about over in the SG) on the Persians. We can sign a RoP with the Persians, Give them lots of gifts, build their rails, and quietly send in our troops before the 20 Turns are up.
Octavian X has been confirmed as FA deputy. Welcome to the department.
I'd prefer to give this manuever a more civilized name, if we could.
But the concept is sound and would get the conquest over with in a very short time.
The fact that we would have a dozen or more panzergruppen (armies with 4 panzers each) available should also accelerate matters.
Possibly a RoP Backstab would sound more Civilized . But I have grown used to the name "RoP Rape" but if it would be more civilized to call it "RoP Backstab" then it is fine by me .
I request having an embassy in Persia so that we can sign an ROP deal with them. I'd also like an ROP with England and Russia. Then reason is so that we can take out England and Russia in one turn, while building up in Persia. We'll be building an extra 20-25 tanks in 2 turns, and even more in 5 turns. That should be more than enough to take out Persia.
The reason I want an ROP with Persia is so that when we abuse the English and Russian ones, our ROP rep will be shot (although we abused the French ROP and still got one with England...).
I'd also like an ROP with Greece or China just in case we go for one of them. BTW, I did spot a huge Persian infantry stack headed south into their territory.
Since we no longer need to worry about our reputation, this seems fine to me.
Should we also sign an ROP with China? I'm not sure if we're going to go with China or Greece after Russia/England/Persia. If we sign an ROP with China, we can send in forces to pillage their resources (maybe even capture workers) if we do go to war with them.
Separate names with a comma.
