Terraforming: Cost in turns? Stacking?

Hi all,

I need to know two things:

1. How long does it take to terraform a certain terrain? E.g. how many turns does it take one Engineer to convert a mountain to a hill? Or a tundra to desert? Etc.

2. Do Engineers stack when terraforming? Will two Engineers finish twice as fast as just one?

I went out of my way to find this info on this website and the forums, both by browsing and keyword search, but I failed miserably. I really appreciate your help! Thanks!

If you look in the "CIV 2 - Game of the Month" Forum, for the GOTM_136 discussion, Posts 20 and 25 have links to some information about settlers and terraforming.

BTW, 2 Engineers are twice as fast as 1. Teams larger than 2 can also help speed your terraforming if you learn how to manage these teams.

I am glad it is still there. I have a copy on my machine at home. This is one of the most comprehensive research articles on Civ2 issues and it is well written. I recommend reading the whole thing if you have not already.
