Dear C2C Team and all that are involved,

I just wanted to thank you for a great mod.
I am playing it since one of the early 3x (think 30 or 31) versions and since 32 my wife plays it, too.

We enjoy the whole mixture of pre-historic animal hunt and hard fight to "just" survive and grow the best you can to the hights of intercontinental warfare and AI Leader infamy ^^

I am so thankful that among many many mod projects that had so much promise or were already good, this one here is still up and running and being actively deved. I am thankful that it seems like there is a strong team in control, which also shares the burden, but also has its specialists that also seem to integrate so nicely into the whole team. I think especially THIS is what made (and makes) C2C so big and good... a Team effort. Where other teams explode because of diva-nism and/or arguments that can not be solved, this team here is still standing.

What I am also impressed with is the open mind of this team. I did read quite some stuff on the forums over the years and if a modmod or some other resource seems good and does match its integrated. And here I also have to thank all those other modders that had their work integrated into C2C. Where in other communities there might be many modders that can not play nice together and are strictly against their resource integrated into some bigger mods, the spirit of many modders in the Civ Community seems to be a lot more open.

For me as player its always a win-win when modders cooperate with each other, as it usually makes a mod in the end bigger and better as there are more people with more ideas... if those can come together at some point its the best scenario that can happen and I am just so thankful that you guys are still kicking. It surely is not always easy and thats why I did write this message, to show you that your work is so important for some people out there, that it would be a huge loss if this project would end some day prematurely. I dont want to build up any pressure, but we are so looking forward for the space mod being integrated into C2C core mod and maybe someday Multi Maps (if that still is a thing), but also so many other things that we did read up.

For me and my wife C2C = Civilization!

As someone who is coming back to C2C after about 4 years i have to say i completely endorse what the OP is saying.

After downloading V37 i can say i am impressed with the level of quality this mod reached. The attention given to the details is something that i really appreciate. The game looks beautiful (icons, new lands and features, new units and so...), very well polished, stable and well documentated. The sounds effects are also amazing !! This level of details is beyond professional :goodjob:

At the beggining i felt i bit overwhelmed with all the new things, but learning all the new concepts added is being a exciting experience, especially the way combat works now. Combat now feels engaging and strategy now matters.

So, i wish to thank all the very dedicated, talented and creative modders that are working on this project !! Your efforts are admirable and long live C2C !! :D

I'm personally VERY touched by these incredibly crafted statements of praise and thanks. Thank YOU for playing and sharing your feelings on our efforts. I completely agree that this is an amazing TEAM effort. It hasn't always been easy for us to gell as a team but those of us who've stuck it out have done quite well to define our niches I believe. We've hit a stride here and there's so much more to come, I believe. I've been spending many hours of my own Xmas break here actually playing the mod as well and yeah, I'm very happy with the game experience, which is the most important thing above all. So I'd like to add my own thanks to the other modders on the team!

SO, your Heroes and Criminals planted the seeds for the most amazing game dynamics. I know I've frustrated you by twisting some of the purposes of these units but I greatly appreciate the freedom you've given me to work with things because I feel the way they play out now is not just good gaming, it's profound. And none of us can thank you enough for initiating this project from the AND roots in the first place, and managing it with the open and inviting platform that cultivated bringing together such an amazing group of talented people that could and would make C2C what it is today.

DH, your python talents are incredible and the patient details and perfectionism you infuse into your designs and projects are impeccable. The animal kingdom is more like an empire here because of you and your continued cultivation of the civilian side of the game has infused so much of the flavor of C2C that makes it FUN! You're one of the load bearing walls of our team and you've been THE example of how to work cooperatively for all of us, knowing exactly when to bend and when to stand firm. I can't imagine there would even BE a C2C without you! It certainly would lack for a LOT, both in core concept and polish. I also could never hold up ALL of the debugging needs without your assistance as well.

Hydro, you may not be actively modding but your level of contribution is still stunning and woven throughout, being perhaps the most core defining features of what make C2C what it is. From buildings to units your prolific efforts have been the crystals around which all design in C2C is forming. We miss your active participation here but it goes without saying that you were one of the rockets that put this shuttle into orbit my friend.

Sparth, you're THE team member that took C2C from a really amazing game to something beyond the level of professional. Your artwork synchronized our mod and made it a product and a brand rather than just a scattered hodgepodge of ideas and elements. You did an amazing volume of work in such a short amount of time, contributing so much so quickly it made the mind spin. None of us could have accomplished what you have for us and you answered prayers and wishes of so many here both players and modders alike. You've also been one of the most amazing team players we could have asked for.

Toffer, you're the unsung hero of late. Your contributions have been priceless and your insights incredible. The range of talent you bring to the table is absolutely astounding and so it's not surprising that when you look at the body of your work in the mod you can find your fingerprints all over the place. You have a lot of talents and can work with things none of the rest of us can but at the same time you understand the core game design theories we work with here better than the originators of the designs themselves at times. This makes you one of our best auditors. We've only just begun to benefit from your efforts but we can all hope to be benefiting them for some time to come!

Joseph, though you've always been one of the best player feedback sources, admittedly even when it comes a bit rough, or perhaps BECAUSE it does, your balance work on v37 was exactly what we needed to take the entire mod and make it a great game to play hands down. As a member with the hands on the wheel of large scale globals down to fine scale evaluations of balance factors, your insights are profound and I think we're learning how to work together more and more effectively all the time. I'm proud of our version and a lot of the pride I feel can be related directly to what you've brought to it. Thank you for being a team member since the mod was conceived, whether it was official or not!

There are so many more of you that deserve lip service as well, members that have come and gone, some we've fought and struggled with and some who've left us hurricanes of modding efforts to sort through but left the indelible mark of genius in their wakes. All of you are here in this great work and will always be. Though I speak only to the power v37 contributors, no contribution to the mod has ever been small or unnoticed. This is truly the result of a community, not just a few.

To the OP and fellow poster, You are Most Welcome!:D

It does lift our spirits when we get recognition for this "hobby" we've all invested much time into.

Hopefully the Future versions of C2C will be even better.

And to the fellow Modders and Mod author, StrategyOnly, of C2C, Thank You All for listening, even if it was poorly and curmudgeonly explained "most" of the time.

JosEPh :old::cowboy::nono: ;):mischief: :D

You know how some people have been saying for years that they only have the IE to get Firefox? I can definitely say that I only have Civ4 installed for C2C. Vanilla is not a bad game (even now), but it is so bland (especially w.r.t. religion) with so little content compared to C2C (and that has been true as long as I have been playing this mod, roughly for 5 years).

I wouldn't have thought it possible that there was a general strategy game with more complex ressource chains than any Settler or Anno game trying to be the combination of Civilization and Master of Orion that I have always wanted, and with a well developed military part (especially if you play with CM, thank you Thunderbrd). If you like strategy games at all, this is really the one game to rule them all.

especially if you play with CM, thank you Thunderbrd)
Your more than welcome. Thank the team for giving me the room to play by adding these! I'm enjoying the play experience myself.
