I recently finished a really fun Hatty warmonger game which was tense tactically for almost the whole game. I went from War Chariots to Elepult to Eletreb to draft muskets + trebs to draft rifles + trebs to draft rifles + cannons (I maybe should have gone cannons before rifles but was concerned about defending an attack from a stronger AI which didn't happen, maybe because I was drafting rifles I dunno)

Usually my war tactic is simply find and destroy enemy stack of death -> win. Better BUG AI has caused me to unlearn quite a lot of my usual tricks.

This game had from both sides (human and AI); feints, counter attacks, forks, fork blocks, defensive stalemates (I basically had trench warfare for a while), sneak attacks, pillaging, wars of movement as sides maneuvered for seige initiative and terrain advantages.

I've never really bought into the whole CIV SOD problem but Better BUG AI has caused a shift away from it on both sides into much more dynamic warfare in my games. The best thing I find is the AI does not fight losing battles nearly as easily.

This game was exactly what I hoped CIV could be when I first stated playing it all those years ago. Thanks to the team for providing me with this amazing experience.

Agree it is good, I use that mod in all my games. Along with better AI, the BUG 4.5 version is a real improvement to the BUG-series.

Now go and try the next level in AI, K-Mod :D. I used to play with better AI too, but K-Mod is far ahead, get ready to be demoted at least one difficulty level, maybe even two. I think the AI could have have had most of their cheats (as in discounts) removed and the AI would still pose a threath to a human player (as opposed to being a minor hindrance to the player)
