I like Taste by Tyga, its catchy. But it's like 1,000x less musically interesting than say, Time by Pink Floyd.

I didn't grow up w Pink Floyd so it's not some childhood bias.

Probably it's a better song in every metric but ABF is correct in that theres no accounting for taste (lol didn't mean the pun, just happened)

Malarky. Streaming services have opened up so many opportunities for small and niche bands. If you think music is getting worse, you're either getting old or not looking in the right places.

Have you ever listened to the 1970s/1980s episodes of Casey Kasem's American Top 40? A lot of older songs weren't really that great. It's the good stuff that filters to the top and gets remembered.

Here's bit of a musical journey of the previously change-over of decades in my own lifetime, show how the various attitudes have changed.

    Going into 1980:

    Going into 1990:

    More whimsical:

More social and political attitudes (and hopes):

Going into 2000 (Very Different Feel):

(Despite the last one being from 1979, it was VERY thematic)

Does anyone remember any songs specifically themed around going into 2010? I honestly don't.

Disagree. I like very few bands from my generation.
I love previous ones. I have always been an oldie

My elder brother is 12 years older than me, I listen "his" music, not "mine"

I think this will go down as one of the defining images of the decade and an icon of the American space program for all time:

Best thing this decade was getting married.

    upload_2019-12-17_16-28-26.png

There was also learning to love Canberra, I moved here right at the start of the decade and now it's very much my home and a place I love.

Also in 2015 we got my first cat and first pet ever and he is the best cat and he loves me

Also there was the Swans winning a premiership which was just delirious manic joy
