1. The President is overseas, provoking near riots on the streets of the host country, our closest ally.
2. At least 25 people have been killed and over 450 wounded in bomb attacks against Turkey, another ally.
3. Over 120,000 U.S. young men and women are occupying a major country in the Middle East and some of them are killed there everyday.
4. All of these events are tied together in a war between Western and Islamic civilisation and this conflict is more dangerous to our way of life than the Cold War ever was.

So what is CNN talking about? Michael Jackson. I dont know whether to vomit, cry or laugh. I almost dont blame our enemies for wanting to destroy us. I want to defect to France.

Well look at it this way. What can I say? Poor you guys over there - luckily there are still people who don't think Americans are the same as their politics or politicians - so you should be safe from others direct opinions about you, but as major actor in world wide politics America gets more bad publicity than other countries that deserve equally much:(

What would a realistic news journal look like:
1. Yet more deaths in Iraq
2. The World Hates Bush and because of that, the World hates America
3. Hundreds wounded and dosend die in Turkey
4. Afghanistan is slipping into anarchy

EVERY SINGLE DAY

With news like that the Greens will surely win the elections, and it's something the Establishment (currently the PNAC) will not have.

But it could also happend that people will not watch TV anymore and things stay the same.

Sad.

Its just what sells. People have heard "More soldiers dead", "the world hates Bush" and "another bombing in x" a couple times, so they aren't that interested anymore. What you say? Jacko was playing with little boys again?!!?! Tell me more!

Such is our modern society.

Western civilization? Most Like 2 Eastern Civs, one allied to
a powerful western partner.

What are they saying? They freed Iraq? Isn't that true? The only reason why we are fighting them is because there a threat, they want to kill us. What are we supost to do, just wait tell another 911 happens? They have tv shows about the gorly of killing in the name of there god, for kids. They were being killed by Saddam. The price of freedom is great, we are paying that price for them. This is so wrong? This is worth fighting against? I am proud of what Bush is doing and I am gald that CNN says such things.

:lol:You completely missed the point of thread. Youre proud of CNN because its devoting more time to Michael Jackson than a war which has claimed thousands of lives?

No, he isn't. There have been demonstrations but they are small and not violent at all. And what exactly is a "near riot"? The fact is that a majority of the British public welcome President Bush to our country and the vast majority view America as a good friend and a great nation. Long may the Special Relationship continue.

My response to all these types of attacks is the same. Do it yourself. You don't like the American media, fine, start your own media company. You don't like what a newspaper prints, start your own newspaper. You don't like what a television station broadcasts, start your own television station. People are far too inclined to criticise without proposing solutions to the problem.

You dont like the things I post about, fine. Dont comment on my posts, instead, stuff a pillow in your shirt, shave a bald spot on top of your head, go get some thick glasses and impersonate me. Then, post things that you like:lol:

Not the subject matter, the way in which you deal with that subject matter. I see no constructive purpose in stating a problem without stating a solution, or an attempt at a solution, to that problem. If you don't then all the debate is about the problem and how terrible/not terrible it is. There is no discussion about a solution or solutions. That is my problem with this thread.

Wake up call...

This is an internet forum. Solutions to problems are not reqiored here...if they are, stop all threads right now!

And to the matter at hand; I hate media too, not American (don't know enough about it) but our very own Swedish one...

And no, I don't have a solution for fixing that either...

Didn't you know? CFC IS a bold new experiment in grassroots, left-wing mass-media...

CNN isn't the only channel. If you don't like it, don't watch it!

That's what freedom is all about.

and here was I thinking it was an internet site devoted to a computer game for obsessive meglomanics with too much time on their hands. ;)

It was, but a workers revolution liberated it and redistributed its assets to the proletariat in March of 2003.

Theres no escape from the mindlessness of American media, within America media. You can switch from MSNBC, CNN and FOX, and chances are, they'll be talking about the same things at the same exact time. I was only able to find relief when I clicked over to NWI, the Canadian news channel.

I think it's a small price to pay for living in a nation with such a free economy. It will eventually catch up to us, but for now it works fine. Nothing lasts forever.
