Well, this is the first map I've ever done, but I'm ahppy enough with it to make it available to everyone. Basically, this map is just a simple remake of the America map from Colonization. Aside from a little terrain editing (mountains and such) and the resources placed, it's pretty much exactly the same. Notes: -The map is 58x72 -"Colonisation" has 18 civs starting in random positions. -"ColonisationWithStarts" has 6 civs, Russia, Spain, France, England, Aztec and Inca, all in their historical start positions (for the europeans, these are Alaska, Cuba, Quebec and Virginia, respectively). The Russians are included because there are no Dutch. -No late game resources (aluminum, uranium, oil) have been placed as yet. -There is no Civ4 analogue to swamp terrain. As swamp terrain is a low-food medium-ore tile revealed by cutting down rainforest, I replaced it with plains and put jungle on top of it. -There's also no analogue to some resources, particularly prime timber. While I could place similar resources down for the rest (silk for cotton), there was nothing I could do about timber, so it was left out. At some point, I may go back and place down pre-constructed lumbermills as a replacement. -If the map seems a little bland, it's probably due to there being only four kinds of flat terrain, and two kinds of woodland in Civ4 (versus 6 flatlands and 6 woodlands in Colonization). Oh, and if anyone decides to make a colonisation Mod, they can feel free to use this map if they like. Quick Update: -The blandness problem is actually the result of the editor I was using painting all the forests the same. Unfortunately, I can't seem to maintain the randomness of the original map while still editing the forests in worldbuilder, so I've only edited the "withstarts" version to look all pretty. -Added a third file, WithHelp; which starts the Europeans out with a Settler, a Galleon a musketeer and a Christian missionary each, with France getting a fast worker, England getting an extra settler, Spain getting a conquistador instead of a musketeer, and Russia getting an explorer and an extra missionary; gives them all pre-rennaisance techs plus Education, Printing Press, Astronomy and Gunpowder; and places horses next to their start positions (these being the only sources of horses on the map). Be warned, though that this probably won't be anywhere near balanced until I get around to putting in barbarian camps in place of the other native tribes.
