When I zoom in on barbarian cities, I hear this nice banjo picking. What is this file called? And where is it?

    Thank you.

    It is pretty hilarious.

I kinda feel bad for the barbarians. I mean hey, they're people too, right?

So what if they like country music???

There is apparently a "default" peace track as well, but I don't think I've heard that in the game. Probably because you are never at peace with the barbarians.

The Peace music is Hornpipe by Handel, but I don't know what the War music is. I suspect it is also by Handel.

I think that the Peace music is just there for people who want to make a mod for a new leader but can't be bothered to compose their own music and don't like any of the other. It would suit a Western-Europe, Medieval setting fairly well.

It's funny. I love zooming up on the barbarian city, and that slow mournful banjo plucking tells me they know they are up against an organized and well-equipped army. They don't stand a chance.

Somehow the banjo music reminds me of Deliverance...but I will not expand further....I laugh when I hear it....

Of course they stand a chance. Remember how the Roman Empire fell?

I think it would be really funny if one of the barb cities was called "Deliverance" or "Tallulah Falls". A bit insulting perhaps, but funny.

So you're saying that Rome fell to a bunch of guys wearing "Nothing runs like a Deere" hats whose favorite cultural activity is "deer camp"? :D

Hmm... I wonder, do the barbs build deer camps more often than others?

It's especially 'hilarious' when the barb city is next to a source of squealing piggies.

Let me put it this way--they don't stand a chance against me. I'll smash those suckers.

@jftsang: Great work! Took us all long enough to find it.

I think this sound is later in the game right? I usually when zooming in on a town in the early ages, I often hear the "Baba Yetu" track?

Ah. Then the instrument is a lute, not a banjo.

EDIT: wait for the Poles to discover this...

I guess it could be, after all. Like harpsichord music is generally performed on piano.

Funnily, searching for Bach polonaises I seem to only find that they were written for Anna Magdalena. Maybe it's a transposition, or something very out of performing practice?

Well, I haven't heard that since I installed Warlords, so maybe that's the problem. When I zoom in using Warlords I often just hear the wardrums.

Or when you enable barbarian/minor civ as a playable civilization, when you zoom in on your own cities...
