The Bavaria Castle

Hearing naervod's questions as he walked by, Cyc interjects -
Sir naervod, those questions might be better asked another day at the Land Management Office. Here, relax, have a drink...

When shall I make my claim on the land tiles? :)

*The new Prince once again enters the room, having relaxed for a while in the suite. He approaches the bar and sits down next to a few average Fanatikan citizens.*

GM: Barkeep, beers all around. I have some thinking to do.....

So.... Donovan... Now that you have more tiles then most people will you sell me any of your TS tiles now?

The barkeep sets up another round of beers and whispers to Grandmaster..."m'Lord, it's an open bar. The drinks are on the house. But not to worry, Lord Cyc likes to say the same thing when ever he gets the chance. " :D

*Grandmaster turns around an whispers back to Cyc.*

GM: Really? Hmm..... maybe I shouldn't have gotten into the minibar in the suite...... :crazyeye: Whatever..... still sounds good.... cheers, everyone.

CivGeneral heads to the bar. CivGeneral asks the Barkeep...

I am quite new here in this bar, what do you recomend? :)

*Barkeep @ CG * - "For you, friend, I would recommend a Looterzale to go with a good meal."

*donsig walks up to the bar and orders a strong one. Taking the drink in his hand he raises his glass above his head and raises his voice above the din*

Let us drink a toast to the greatest Prince Fanatika ever had or ever will have! Lawmaker, warrior, landowner, sportsman, President, businessman. All these and more describe him and he excelled at each. Fanatika's loss is truly great. I drink to Prince Shaitan!

I'll drink to that!

FortyJ enters the room in formal, yet personal clothes. Noticeably absent are his official robes, indicative of his position in the government.

Let us raise our glasses to the greatest King our kingdom shall ever know. All who follow him are merely stewards of the kingdom he created. We should consider ourselves fortunate to have known him, to have served under him, to have worked with him, and now, to remember him.

A clatter of hooves is heard in the forecourt, then the mighty oak doors are flung asunder and a tall figure clad in a great fur cloak strides into the room. Despite his haggard and unshaven aspect, this newcomer is instantly recognisable as Prince Eklektikos - the reclusive governor of the North Province

Greeting from the north, my friends.. I must apologise for the lateness of my arrival... If I had but known of this a little sooner I...

His voice falters and he stops to catch his breath before starting anew, now in a calmer and more measured tone...

I heard the fell news but two days ago while on an expedition to the far northern tundra, surveying for potential sites for new settlements when a messenger from Bavaria came riding up in a state of great agitation. "My Lord", he said to me as he fell exhausted from his steed, "My Lord, I bring grave tidings. Your old friend and comrade-in-arms, Prince Shaitan of Vanir, has been lost at sea. Lord Cyc bids you make haste to the Bavaria Castle to attend the wake."
No sooner had these words left his mouth than I had called forth two of my best men, charging one to ensure that the messenger was well looked after & the other to fetch me the fastest mount that could be laid hands on immediately. Since that moment I have ridden night and day, stopping only for fresh horses and enough food to keep me upright in the saddle in order that I might be here with you all tonight to celebrate the life and mourn the passing of one of the greatest Princes Fanatika shall ever know.

But now, I have spoken too long... I have travelled far this night and must rest awhile. Pray direct me to the bar, that I may sit amongst the company of friends and drink to the memory of noble Seabrake.

* 3 of Fanatika's finest have joined the wake. Cyc is ecstatic. *

Welcome! Eklektikos Food and wine abound everywhere in this hall. Help yourself, I will return shortly.

Welcome Mr. President. I am honored that you here. Your attire is impeccable. Please get some food and drink. And thank you for the kind words for Lord Shaitan. I shall return.

Prince donsig, my friend. So glad you could make it. I have reserved a special table for you. Choose your poison, grab a meal and I will join you soon. Even though you gave a great toast earlier, I'm sure we'll make more as the night grows on and the wine disappears. Welcome.

[Prince Donovan Zoi stands up, glass in hand]

Wow, leave it to the great Prince to throw in a few surprises. I must admit that Lord Shaitan's generosity has rendered me practically speechless.

The 10-12 people that read the discussion threads break into laughter ;)

Anyways, fill 'em up....I have a few toasts myself.

To Cyc - a fine display once again! As a great poet will one day say, you have taken a sad song and made it better. You and your staff(and Sara, of course) have made us all feel at ease on what could have been a disaster if left in lesser hands. I am sure that your new status as my neighbor will only help expand our enduring friendship.

An eruption of applause begins and continues for 3-4 minutes

To Padma - your touching gift today symbolizes the close relationship that Lancre and Vanir have developed over the years. I hope that Klein Vanir can one day enjoy that same bond. Be assured that my princedom holds dear the same guiding principles as those of the late Prince Shaitan. Let us start today.

More applause as the two princes raise their glasses to each other

To Grandmaster - congratulations on the discovery of your true lineage and elevation in status. I have always thought you worthy of Princehood and now I know why. May our two Vanirian houses work side by side to keep your father's legacy alive.

another eruption of applause that resounds for several minutes

To Strider - No!

Laughter fills the hall. Once it subsides, Donovan continues

Seriously, though.....let's celebrate Shaitan's life tonight and make deals tomorrow. I probably will not make any moves until the Land Office re-opens anyway.

Near the back of the crowd, Cyc winks at Sara who starts playing the "time's up" music. Behind Donovan, Brother Adam playfully trys to hook Donovan away with his shepherd's staff.

Oh, no.....you aren't gonna....okay LAST ONE! To Shaitan.

The antics give way to reverent silence

What can I say that hasn't already been said tonight? Shaitan truly cared for and cultivated those that served him. Some of his knights have gone on to become Science Leader, Judge Advocate or very vocal Military Deputy. It was Shaitan's noble presence that taught us all how to stand on our own; how to fight for what we believed in. It is my sorrow that we now have to go out and prove that without him.

Donovan looks up to, or maybe through the ceiling, raises his glass and speaks softly

We will not let you down, m'Lord.

*Lord Master Zarn walks*

Hmmm... I never noticed this place was next door to the Temple. Oh, hey Cyc. What's this place? It's huge! The Temple is big, but this is even larger.

*Master Zarn stares up at the ceiling*

It's a nice place. There isn't even penquin toys laying around caused by someone that likes well... penquins. Not to mention any names, of course.

Welcome Lord Master Zarn.

Donovan Zoi that was a fantastic address. I'm impressed. I've gotten word that there is a long line of citizens heading back home in your direction. They were well fed and seemed to have a good time. I hope you and your family have had as good a day as I have. Please return some day.

Cyc continually makes the rounds, stops at the President's table.

"Good evening 40J. I'm growing tired. It's been a long day. I'm sorry I couldn't join you earlier. How have you been? I have read about your adventures down south. A harrowing experience I'm sure. I just barely got out of the casino myself right at the begining. Came straight away to the North Province to redirect the workers. But all that's over now. Then my thoughts turned to the Wake. It's non-stop these days, and I'm not even in politics anymore. Well, it's good seeing you again."

Thank you, Cyc. My apologies for not including your hospitality toward my people in my toast. That was quite an imposition on my part so thanks for your understanding and great service. It will always be remembered.

I am certain that my people will find their way home without incident. After all, we blazed quite a trail on the way up! As for myself and my family, we have had quite a day. Is it possible for you to put them up for the night while I make a drunken attempt to use my new-found influence to rub elbows with some of Fanatika's finest?

And if so, my good host, care to join me? :D

Of course we can put your family up for the night. Let me get the keys for the suite from Grandmaster and you can take your loved ones up. I will have fresh sheets put on right away and the rooms freshened.

BTW, I didn't even notice a lack of comment in your speech, so I am not offended at all. Fret not, young Prince.

And I would be more than happy to share a few glasses of wine with you whilest we rub elbows. Keep in mind I'm still trying to find Rudy and Donsig.

I would personally like to thank everyone who attended this beautiful event today. Thank you and God bless.
