The Medal of Honour games are pretty cool, although I haven't played them much.

Yeah Enemy Territory rocks for a free multiplayer game. It probably has as much content as a $19.99 EA expansion pack. 
Multiplayer WWII, it has to be BF1942 with Forgotten Hope installed.
SP WWII, MoHAA with Spearhead is the best single player experience I have had in a long time (The two demos for Call of Duty didn't really get my heart racing as much as any of the levels in MoHAA or Spearhead)
Console WWII game, Secret Weapons over Normandy is supposed to be really fun and I find the MoH console games' controls to be rather clunky compared to other shooters like 007: Nightfire.

It have played HoI, and it is an excellent game. BF1942 is also good, and so is the MoH series. I haven't tried Call of Duty but I've heard it's spectacular. Also, I will have to look into enemy territory.

Hearts of Iron, of course. I'm not much of a FPS-Player. And I liked the original Panzer General, series. Also if you're into RTS you might want to try Sudden Strike II.

Hearts of Iron, Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin, and Call of Duty are all WW2 games I'm playing now.
Call of Duty is so much better than MOHAA IMHO. Never played BF1942 so I can't compare.

My favourite is Battlefield 1942, its not great as single player, but on a LAN its brilliant
Call of Duty is the best, its awesome. The MP kicks BFs ass. BF sucks because its too arcade, there are no tactics in BF because all you have is a bunch of morons running for a plane or a tank and then they go their own way. COD is the best, i recommend it to anyone, and i have my own server to play it on so PM me or ask for the IP in this thread if u want it.

both types have there own pluses squad gives u the fun of wat its realy like but the way bf is its more fun b/c u can use planes ships and anything and well if u played bf online u could play in squads and aculy use taktics
