The Biblical World! (version 1.0 previous version was beta)

The map takes place in the Middle-East, in 1000 BC.

David, King of Israel is expanding his rule and forming a new Empire.
Assyria is expanding, Babylon is prospering and the Greeks are living in seperate city-states after the fall of Mycnea.
The trading kingodms of Edom, Phoenicia, Sheba and Kush are getting richer and richer while tribe-people such as the Phrygians and Lycians are forming states.

The scenario has many features: Custom religions, Manipulated tech-tree, new civics and many more! :D

    Playable civs:
    Israel
    Egypt
    Babylon
    Assyria
    Elam
    Edom
    Sheba
    Kush
    Phrygia
    Neo-Hittite
    Greece
    Lycia

    Aramea

This is a scenario and a mod!

Known bugs: espionage icon doesn't show up, religious techs resemble pink squares...

Edit number 2: the download works...

(Maybe a silly question, as you got 40+ DLs, but) Does it work now? (If so, you should announce it on the New/Updated Files thread.)

Haven't played it yet, but after looking at the screenshots, I must suggest that Damascus be added as a distinct Aramaean civilisation with the cities in southern Syria, seeing as it has played a fairly significant role in the area (actually, a role quite comparable to that of the Neo-Hittites, who are included in this mod). Also, I'd rename Armenia into Urartu, but that's just me. Good idea for a scenario, though, this is one of my favourite periods in history.

    Impressive!:goodjob:

    Two (minor) comments:

    - Urartu does not equal Armenia (although Urartu was in the area which later became Armenia, Urartu itself simply vanished from history, whereas Armenia has survived in some form to the present day - which leads to the question: is there an end date for the scenario?)

    - although I like your civics/religions system, which seems quite appropriate to the time period, I don't understand why Hinduism is in, as it's basically off-map (and very Indian).

    Otherwise looking good!

Urartu was an Armenian kingdom, It's like calling all Greek citystates "Greece".
The scenario is in 1000 BC
Hinduism is in because I took the DLL from the original Vanilla Greek world scenario.

Unlike with the Greeks, the etnic composition of Urartu (the biblical Ararat), as well as the historical genesis of Armenia is still debated.

First Urartu and Armenia do not coincide in time; second, it is assumed that Urartu, after disappearing, formed a part of the subsequent kingdom of Armenia.

So certainly Urartu does not equal Armenia, nor the other way around.

Haven't been able to really play it - it keeps crashing to windows error reporting.

May be related to this error message every time I try to start the scenario:

Can't find any problems, try to change the "modular XML loading" to 1 instead of 0 in the "the Biblical World.ini" and notepad files in the folder.
And please, there are more than 270 downloads, can't you give me some feedback?

well... what. it looks pretty good. i started as Hammurabi, invaded the guy on the east, took some cities (Persepolis, ..). Built some wonders, consolidated, built some religious shrines. I can't seem to trade techs, is it disabled? I don't like that.

Generally, the map is too big for my liking and the game gets sluggish later on my computer so I doubt I'll proceed much further.
