It is so frustrating to get satilights, and know where all the landmass is, but ya don't know what's (who'se) sitting on the as yet to be explored landmass...and not knowing if the badguys have a stack of 25 units coming down to protect the city you are about to take.
make a new air unit, see the really great tutorials on doing this, they have explained it better than I ever will. tun off ALL bombard/combat off (set to 0) that will leave the unit the ability to rebase and recon...set it's range to 200 (or more on extremely big maps) that will let you "recon" any square on Large maps....treat it like a satilight fly-over.
the flavor (graphic) is up to you, I would use a blackbird graphic if I could find one, but that is just an old crush on Kitty coming out and has nothing to do with the game....you could use a satilight, so right now I'm using a biplane which has its own style to it at least, cuz remember "the red baron sees all".
