The CAN-SPAM Act

 I was also thinking that it applied CFC at first.

Well, I don't usually recieve spam, so I can't tell... :p

Strangely, I don't receive much e-mail spam. Come to think of it, I don't normally receive e-mails at all. *sigh* I'm so alone...

"Friendly spam"? That's one I've never heard before.

In the past week I have only gotten about 9 spam emails, amazing!

I run a few mail servers, and the amounts of spam getting screened at the server level and in a couple "spambucket accounts" I have have been unchanged since CAN-SPAM went into effect.

Personally, I think the law was appropriately named - everyone now legally can spam.

I found it best to use diferent mail accounts for diferent purposes. Best way to contain spam...

Indeed, in that way AOL is very useful - I have several different addresses that I use for various purposes, and I can create an email address to use for a single action (such as registering for a product where I know they're probably going to use my email address for marketing) and then delete it.
