Well, since that post, Watson managed to injure himself again, so there's still a chance he won't be picked for the first couple of tests.

Predictions for the Ashes? Will Clarke survive as captain if the gap doesn't close?

ECB streamed the Ashes on youtube for continental Europe, but I don't think Cricket Australia are doing the same. And it starts inconveniently late in any case, so the Aussie pub isn't as much of a realistic option.

Why wouldn't Clarke survive as captain?

Warner and Watson just throwing their wickets away. New coach, same dumb dismissals from players who should have the experience by now to know better.

Rogers and Clarke didn't handle the short ball anywhere near as well as they should've for supposedly test class batsmen either. Neither of them were amazing short balls by Broad, but we made them look deadly.

Not winning a test match in about 14 games is generally something captains don't survive. There are other scapegoats too, but I think his position becomes increasingly tenuous with each game not won. The lack of an alternative does assist him, though.

Think Australia took the honours to be honest.

I spent the last three days wondering how Australia would manage to blow it. So I'm pleasantly surprised.

So apparently this game was withdrawn from sale because it's so bad. Hilarious video of Americans who don't understand cricket playing it:

    Link to video.

This thread is a lot quieter when things are going well.

4 more wickets to get tomorrow.

Yeah I wonder where are all the English supporters. At least we Aussies were in this thread while we were losing.

I think more to the point is that we like complaining about the Australian cricket team. Winning is nice, but it does unfortunately mean I can't complain about the likes of Watson, Smith and Johnson.

It is going to be hot during the Ashes here. Well over the old century mark.
