The Cold War Deluxe; 1950-1991

A few points I have noticed while playing:

-Everyone is called Giovani Groncho or something, but when you actually get into the game only your civ and the other minor civs are still called that. This wouldn't be too hard to fix, but would add a bit more professionalism in an already well done mod.

-Why does every city start and pop size 1 and no improvements? Is this to help with load times, because it put me off playing as the Americans or the Soviets, with such a large empire having to be constructed from scratch.....
i butched the leader names...

every city starts as a size 1 b/c city growth rates skyrocket once you start improving production, etc. plus, it helps w/ the load times.

make sure you patch your game w/ the new PediaIcons.txt file. simply start it as a "Save Game"....or you could DL the new biq which cures the 'pollution on impassable terrain' problem. you'd have to start over w/ the new biq.

@Drivebymaster
all of western europe should, at the least, be alligned w/ the US. one can make a case for spain, scandinavia and even france (left nato in earely 60's) but all in all, i believe that the US should 'get their back'

Yes well I didn't think that out ohh btw some more errors I encountered they're bellow.

Ohh why aren't there units like combat engineer corps or combat engineers you should just replace it with the Escorted worker in the M-Unit section. Just a thought

it seems that the "Adv Espionage" tech isn't showing on the tree. no real biggie i guess; at least as far as game-play or crashes are concerned.

the other appears to be a bunk or incorrectly assigned pcx file.

i thought about the m-unit but chose to have the "Worker" unit and then further on, the "Civil Engineer" unit.

thanks for the huntin', too. ;)

thanks Lord Azazel.

there are just a few very, very minor errors w/ PediaIcon entries. none are fatal and can be easily fixed.

as for the load times, they are the fastest i have ever seen with a scenario. turn times are around 2 minutes as you progress through the scenario. this is my proudest achievment :mischief:

make sure you use the civilopedia, too. it's chock-full of info. ;)

El justo,

Are you gonna do a new version with all the errors fixed or we need to use the fixes in the previous posts? .

Nice Scenario I like it a lot. I think that maybe I'll try it with Japan

doesnt the fact that you have to build your civ from scratch essentially mean that when you and the other civs get to the point where they are as developed as they would have been had you given them the structures in the beginning that the game will slow down? are this 90 to 120 second turns all throughout the game or just in the beginning? and also what kind of processor+ram are these turns based on... sorry for so interrorgating you

i started each civ from scratch b/c of the fast growth rates and also so that it helps w/ initial load times. i've given some thought to a few more 'pre-placed' improvements so that particular cities would have an advantage at the start.

i forget the specs of my comp but it's 2 yrs old and is very average. the first 30-40 turns are like 30 seconds/turn. they get a little longer as wars are waged but nothing over 2 minutes or so. this is 150+ turns in.

i absolutely guarantee that this is the fastest 31 civ scenario ever made.

btw, no problem w/ the questions...i don't care :mischief:

well i appreciate your kindness in answering me, i do not always get it
