As China I begin in an isolated island, which is good, because the tech lead that the AI gets is balanced out by the liberalism slingshot I do near the time I'm found. I admittedly give Cyrus education while liberalism was two turns away, but Cyrus wasn't about to found liberalism in one turn, was he?

CYRUS HAS FREAKIN' DISCOVERED LIBERALISM!!!!
What?
Why does this happen to me!!!

Meh, I just wanted to rant.

the comp "cheats(gets an advantage)" on prince on up, but not in that fashion.

maybe he used a great engineer like i do sometimes to rush it? :)

Exactly. The AI has GP sitting around for ages to come until they find the right moment to use them.

Aye... I always find them sitting in cities i'm about to capture. They don't even have the sence to move them.... so the AI obviously has plans for the unit which aren't over-rided by the threat of my city attackers.

I've never captured a GP. Do you kill it or get to keep it?

It is executed:ar15:

And don't forget he could have tech traded with other civ's during the turn to speed up the process.

Great Prophet gives liberalism .. I once used that trick:)

Okay, I learned my lesson.
Wait until Liberalism in ONE turn before giving away education.

I highly doubt it's rushing of liberalism by GP. The research cost of liberalism is over 2000 golds, so it takes two great prophets or two great artist or their combination to get it in one turn. Usually when the AIs have one great prophet and one artist they prefer golden age. In addition, if I'm not wrong the use of great prophet will allow research of printing press first before liberalism.

If this is truly due to burning of two great prophets with other conditions also met, then you must be very unlucky (or lucky to see something with such a low odds).

The AI rushed Liberalism, and it can be done with one GP. It's a tactic the AI likes to use. If they generate a GP that is not immediately useful, they'll keep him for either a Golden Age or until a good moment. You gave Cyrus education... he used one of his GPs to discover Liberalism. A smart move.
