@Mulholland: The World Trade Center was actually quite ugly, and everyone in the NYC area hated it while it were there. (I distinctly remember my father calling the towers a blight on skyline.) There's no use denying that it was hideous even though the method of the towers' destruction was undescribably horrible. Don't romanticize it.
