The Cool Structures Thread!

^^^ Is that Tim Burtons house?

Hehe

It's a really cool building, I've been in it. It's in a small resort town (that just happens to be right in between 2 large cities, but anyway), and has tons of cool architecture and hot girls wandering around. The building in question has a restaurant/cafe in it.. We stopped there for lunch, I think. It was cool inside too. The bathrooms had all these surreal fold-out mirrors everywhere.

My Hong Kong girlfriend says that many people in Hong Kong compare the Bank of China to a razor blade.

How about this one for graceful:

The Burj al Arab hotel in Dubai.

Thats funny...many people in Hong Kong dislike the building and this is true, but only because it disregards the fundamentals of Feng Shui (so I am told). The two towers at the summit resemble chopsticks standing up in a bowl, a symbol of poverty and starvation to the Chinese people.

But I love it.

And this is its tennis court i think:

Where\what\how high is that? Playing tenis up there looks like fun but I imagine that you'ld lose a lot of tenis balls.

It's on the helipad of the Barj Al-Arab hotel in Dubai. The hotel is 321 meters tall, and I would estimate that the helipad is at 220-240 meters. Unfortunately, the tennis court was only temporary, and few of us can afford to stay at the hotel anyway.

Start with a no-brainer (especially in a Civ forum) {image size now reduced}

Here's something even closer to home Portchester Castle. Nice to have history in your back garden :)

There's Portsmouth's dockyard in the background, I think that tower might be the spinnaker tower.

Termite mounts are impressive :) If you compare them, replacing a human with a termite, to the size of human cities, they are still rather large, and amazingly high.

That second one would be fun to destroy...from a distance of course.
