If I can find my photo's from 2 years ago ill put them up on here. Me and family took a 2 week long tour of old St. Petersburg, and there is some impressive stuff in there.

Its actually my dream to go to st-petersburg...I could have post at least 20 buildings but i guess other members would have been fed up...

-The unfinished temple of the Olympian Zeus, in Athens (the temple was never completed, but it would have been really massive)

Is the bean new? I didn't see it when I went to Chicago some three years ago.

It's about two years old. If you were there three years ago, you would have seen a walled-off construction site on lower Michigan Ave.

Here's a little collage of images from The Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, northern Sweden. The pictures are old since the hotel melts away each spring and a new hotel is rebuilt every winter in December.

You can see the exterior, some of the rooms, a corridor to the bar, the chapell and the Ice Globe Theatre.

That is the coolest structure posted yet, Ingvina.

I think the build something similar every year in Minneapolis, but I have never bothered to go over there to see it. I just go to the Mall of America, and not very often.

That is something I would like to SEE. But who would pay $300+ to freeze their asses off all night in a big igloo?

It still annoys me to no end that the Petrona Towers are considered taller than the Sears Tower, just because they used an arbitrary way to judge where the top is.

It's all about who's got the largest tadger anyway, forget about it, great structures aren't usually about who's got the largest member. Look at the religious structures, they're about who's put the most effort into finding God, not some pointless I've got the biggest penis in the world.:)

I can build the biggest structure in the world but can I make it the most beautiful?

Admittedly, the Petrona Towers look cooler than the Sears Tower. But then, I have actually seen the Sears Tower, hence my concern.

But you are right, I think. I have seen some pretty ugly box megachurches, and some pretty impressive tiny chapels.
