I like the crusader, especially with the new distribution of resources. If you are stuck without iron or horses, you can always build the Knights Templar and pump out an army of crusaders capable of winning you the strategic resources you need. Yet they are not so powerful as to be unbalancing, and building the wonder does not make you unstoppable.
