The dastardly Dread Pirate Bobo

I was suddenly and inevitably betrayed by the Dread Pirate Bobo when he began attacking my shipments to and from Europe.

Has anyone else had their privateers turn on them? Or did I accidentally hit the gift button at some point...

I have checked the events, and this is not a random event. I suppose it could be a python/SDK thing, but usually they place an entry in the civilopedia about this type of thing...

Are you playing with any mods? A mod might have added it. Sounds interesting.
