The dawn of the SWEDISH civ...

oh, and I have a lil problem... there is a gap between the Vikings and the Caroleans regarding soldiers. Did we have any particular units then or just regular Pikemens?

IIRC Sweden should have pretty standard european medieval units. Crossbowmen and Longspearmen constituted the leidang, while the nobility consisted of mounted armoured knights. Fewer knights than richer, more densly populated countries. The longspearmen had shorter spears than continental pikemen, because longspears where more manouverable and effective in swedens many forests (imagine running aroung in a pine forest with a 5-6meter long pike...).

I've read this thread and i'm starving for the scenario when it's completed.

Suggestions for some wonders..
Great wonders:
Luther's 95 thesis
Linné´s botanical garden

Small Wonders:
Land reformation
New World Colony

Well done with the brainstorming, folks.

I'd pick two of commercial, seafairing, and/or scientific.

Why should it be a Swedish wonder?

Luther's 95 thesis is a north german wonder.. I know. But..In the scenario scope this could be an conceivable wonder. Since this thread scope is narrower I have one more more wonder suggestion

Carolean War Academy - Simply replace Sun Tzu :scan:

i think the leader should be gustav vasa. i can't possibly think of a leader who has done anything more for sweden.
traits - mil but not too aggressive and commercial
we could be seafaring though but lets leave that to our neighbours. perhaps sci but not enough. i think mil should be perfect due to our carolean era and commercial due to our modern era.

uu - carolean infantry with the graphics someone has made extremely well (dont remember who), perhaps replacing musketman or rifleman or so. though i could imagine a carolean cavalry if u make it good.
