on the queen of the line enty on the fall from hevaen 2 in game civipedia it metions this "the dramatic end of the age of rebrith". what was this ending how did it happen or is this an old and adadoned idea?

Play a game where you raise the AC to 100. Pretty sure FfH2 is set during the age of rebirth.

Yeah, the Age of Rebirth is every time you play a game of FFH. There's no canon version, but it probably involves Armageddon, Auric ascending to godhood, and maybe someone building an Altar to the One and whatever that entails.

As for non-canon, there's the Age of Despair.

The "dramatic end to the Age of Rebirth" might just be from a ship builder's point of view, as in "it doesn't get any more historic than this."

Kael doesn't like to make Age of Rebirth Cannon, so we don't know how it would end. The 3 most likely models of what comes next are:

Age of Enlightenment: Good has triumphed over evil, and Creation becomes better and better until it is safe enough for The One to reinter Creation and open up the real Heaven.

Age of Despair: demons have overrun all of Erebus and the world is merged with hell. No hope remains, and people everywhere are begging for the good old days of Mulcarn's despotism to save them from their burning torment. The One might return, but if he does his holiness would overwhelm the tainted Creation and destroy everything, even the more innocent souls.

Age of Technology: As the population of Erebus rises mana is being pulled in more and more directions by both mages and the common man's subconscious use of magic. Because of this, it becomes virtually impossible for even the strongest mages to channel enough to perform tasks even below average adepts could do in the Age of Rebirth, and so the study of magic becomes pretty much pointless. Subconscious magic would still be important in the forms of "Luck" or "Charisma," but Mage Guilds couldn't prove their worth and so would die out, and the vast majority of those claiming to use magic would charlatans who feed off of the ignorance of the superstitious masses and have no clue how real magic works. With the death of effective magic, technology becomes increasingly important. The Khazad probably would have done well in this environment (unlike the Luchuirp, whose Golems are useless now), except that humans probably drove the other intelligent races just about to extinction before the age really began. Eventually man would have to rediscover on their own most of the technologies the Dwarves had mastered. It would take time, but eventually Erebus would be extremely similar to our own world. (Don't ask me how it becomes round though.)

How Erebus become round;
  • Massive caveins of Mulcarns hell occur when Auric the Ascended literally fall from Erebus down to his hell as he is defeated in his physical form above.
  • His vault is now too weak to hold the physical Erebus
  • The edges of Erebus start to fall down the sides of the hells
  • To stabilize things Ceridwen, Mulcarn and possibly some of the other evil Gods (Agares don't care, Mammon is still trying take over whoever's dominion it was again, Aeron is too angry at Mulcarn for breaking his roof) perform a ritual at the center of the hells and creates a center of gravity that pulls together the surface around all hells.
  • Climate changes on the new Globe of Erebus and new continents are formed

That sounds about right

Yeap, MC is right. The point of FfH is to give you a massive back story going into the game, and then leave it to you to develop what happens next. I have my own thoughts about what a 5th Age game would look like, but thats up to you to determine with every epic game you start.

In my last game, age of rebirth ended when Doviello, corrupted by the Ashen Veil that spreaded from Sheaim lands, created a vast empire, but in the Age 273. of the Rebirth a Doviello man called Verdad made a military coup guided by light of Lugus, overthrew the Veil cultists and their theocracy and took command of the nation. Next five years were years of starvation and strife, cities overgrown by sacrificing the weak were starving, riots were on the streets, citizens were rebelling, and inquisition and terror were dominating. But in the end Lugus prevailed, Veil followers were rooted out, and Doviello marched to Sheaim and Infernal lands, where they fought their last victory and saved the Erebus. In the end Republic was established, slavery was abolished, and slaves were freed, aqueducts and infrastructure was built, and Doviello made a massive efforts towards civilizing once again.
