The Ending: Uh...

I finally was able to complete a game on domination and the ending was incredibly low-budget. A static picture and a one sentence voice over. No recap option or the cool graphs and timeline available in Civ 4.

Anyone else notice this? Has it been addressed by Firaxis somewhere? What a huge disappointment.

Which Catherine? Civ3 Catherine was old and fugly, but in Civ4 I always exclusively played with either Catherine or Elizabeth.

If it's the Civ4 sexy cowgirl, then HELL YEAH, I'm in for that!

Somebody needs to mod in the Civ IV victory movies. This is simple horrible mis-management on firaxis' part.

Spend money on giving each leader voices in their native language, but give a moron victory message? And the leader voices are kind of half assed. The Civ IV leaders felt more real.

I think the lesson here is that if you're going to do something, do it right, otherwise don't bother. Here's too hoping for incoming patches.

I was filthy that there was no graphs / map replays etc like civ4 had. Especially after playing (seemingly) the best game I'd ever played. Arghh

I havnt gotten that far yet. After 350 turns my eyes are starting to cross and I start seeing hexagons on my dogs face and all over the walls.
Haha I hope to see a victory soon though, would be nice to finish a game at last.

But It totally agree that there isn't nearly enough Info, or timelines or graphs. I want something that puts the past 10 hours of my life into perspective.

I kinda like the painting/voice over though, its classy... The Civ IV movies where all kind of cheesy and dumb, like the domination victory...

The game creates a replay file but then never plays it and there's no way to get it to play that I've found. I think they totally just released even though this feature wasn't finished.

The ending blows.

It reminded me of an old computer game series called Eye of the Beholder.

Fantastic game for its time but the ending was terrible. Just a big wall of text

at the end.

Hopefully there will be a proper ending made and Wonder movies as well.

People can laugh at me but I'd pay for that as DLC.

Yeah but the cultural victory is classy, imo. Its the one I saw most.

Anyway the point is that they should be improving on the Civ 4 endings. Sure Domination was silly, so scrap the whole thing and have a 10 cent painting?
