MILITARY COUP IN CUBA. Havana, Cuba. General deHavanne has seized control of the Cuban government and the island republic is now under the control of a military junta. GUN SMUGGLERS CAUGHT ON THE OHIO. Cincinatti, USSA. Smugglers from the Confederacy were caught attempting to sneak weapons into the USSA to arm the rebellious farmers in the heartland of the Socialist nation. The smugglers, all Confederate nationals, were shot by the local officer, though some are reported to have been sent to the new prisons in Missouri and Kansas.

Flush with apparent victory in Kansas and Dakota, General Secretary Browder has announced a state of war between the United States and the New England Confederacy. In the eastern provinces, pro-Louisiana French have risen demanding reunification with the Louisianian Empire. Along the coast, communists have rioted demanding power, peace, and the end of slavery. In northwestern Arizona, the Mormon majority has demanded unification with Deseret to fight against the RMU, forcing Texan military forces in the region to pacify the revolt rather than attack the PRA. In the southwest, the Mexican minority has revolted, damaging Texan supply lines into the PRA and effectively gaining control of the countryside off the roads and away from the cities. Only the scattered native tribes throughout Texas and the landed Texan aristocracy remain loyal to the current government.

War Reports from the Front

Northeast War

USSA OFFENSIVE BREAKS INTO NEW ENGLAND. Springfield, occupied New England. Following an amphibious invasion at Hartford, Socialist forces have broken through the border defenses of the New Englanders. Two New England divisions were surrounded and destroyed in Springfield by the advancing Socialist forces. However, heavy defensive forces have halted the Socialist assualt at Worchester. The German Panzer II has successfully proven itself in battle as superior than generic American designs. In addition the Stuka's first use has proven very effective as a tank-killer and heavy casualties have been inflicted on the Socialists by New England's close air support. In the air, the battle is so far inconclusive, though initial Socialist bomber attacks did devastate the New England bomber corps. Seasoned New England pilots have managed to mantain a presence in the skies despite the USSA having over 2-1 numerical superiority in planes.

Casualty List
USSA: 26,000 Infantry, 110 Light Tanks, 25 Medium Tanks, 75 Wright-191s, 20 Wright-298s
New England: 20,000 Infantry, 25 Panzer IIs, 50 Wright-191s, 70 Wright-298s, 30 Stukas

Casualty List
New England: 30 Submarines

Dakota Insurgency

NATIVES ATTACK! Sitting Bull, Federation of Tribes. The remnants of the Dakota military forces have launched a major offensive against occupying militia in the Federation. Using tanks and fighters as well as soldiers armed with the materials for fighting a modern war, the Dakota army destroyed the occupiers militia in an open battle to the west of Sitting Bull, leaving the city open for reoccupation by Federation nationalists. This victory has at last created a land route between two of the largest native pockets in the occupied Federation.

Casualty List
USSA: -12,000 Militia
Federation: -5,000 Irregulars, -5 Medium Tanks

NATIVE POCKET OVERWHELMED. Occupied Federation of Tribes. A large militia force of the USSA Army has launched a major offensive against the small native pocket in the southeastern part of the Federation. Using superior numbers and equipment, the Socialist forces managed to overwhelm the small clan of Irregulars in the region with relatively low casualties.

Casualty List
USSA: -2,000 Militia
Federation: -6,000 Irregulars

Utah War

SALT LAKE CITY HOLDS UNDER SEIGE. Salt Lake City, Deseret. With the great RMU invasion underway, regular Mormon forces were driven back from the eastern border, though heavy defensive action did bring heavy casualties upon the invaders. The lack of armor has been a serious deterrent to any major success in open ground for the Mormons. However a surge of volunteers, consisting of some militia, but mostly irregulars armed with Molotov cocktails and other irregular weapons have arisen to defend the Mormon holy city of Salt Lake City. These new volunteers, makeshift defenses, and Mormon air superiority have provided Salt Lake City with relief and halted the European invasion at the gates. In the air the Stuka has been displayed as very vulnerable to conventional air superiority fighters. The Mormons' token fighter airforce has inflicted incredibly heavy casualties upon the Stuka bombers used in the invasion, giving Deseret air superiority.

Casualty List
Deseret: 5,000 Infantry, 10 Wright-191s
RMU: 16,000 Militia, 80 Stukas

Arizona War

TEXAN FORCES ADVANCE WITH MINOR RESISTANCE. Roswell, PRA. Arizonian press releases announce that Texan forces have indeed advanced deep into their republic, however due to the widespread advance, the actual territory conquered is relatively small. Arizonian forces have done a withdrawl, with minor sabotage delaying the Texan advance. Neutral observers believe this is a tactic to stall for time in the hopes of a popular rising by other groups elsewhere in Texas.

Misc.

TEXANS COMPLETE HEAVY TANK. Dallas, Texas. In a revolutionary new idea, Texas has revealed the Houston-25, a tank with more firepower than any existing design. More powerful than even the Panzer-II in one on one battle, the new tanks lacks only in speed. In addition, the materials needed to produce this new class of tank become prohibitive for mass production.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN UNION FORMED. New Stockholm, RMU. After heated debate amongst the inhabitants of the New Europe region, a decree by Gustav Halder has reformed the nation into the Rocky Mountain Union in an attempt to spark new nationalism broken away from Old World tradition. State controlled newspapers have all spoken in favor of this new name and the majority of people remain cautiously optimistic in the face of the new war against Deseret.

OOC

Missed Swissempire and Shadowbound's orders. Banked for both, but Swiss, your nation needs you.

@Feanor: Your half-track design has been translated into specialized mechanized infantry. THis gives you more mobile military forces available for production.

Some cities have been added or removed across the map.

Nice update.

I am really starting to regret picking my country now, what with its lone IC. Expect great changes to sweep through the cold, desolate lands of Russia.

Well, I expected as much of those dang communist... *grumbles* However, I would like it if you could clear up what IC per turn and IC to spend means, if you would EQ...

@Krimzon, your stats are messed up, should be five each, forgot to take one away for the capture of Springfield and Hartford. However IC per turn is how much goes into your to spend from the next turn. To spend is what you can spend for orders in the next update.

I sent you my orders, again. Hope I get them because I was planning on using those.

I hath returned! California uber alles.

Just when things were getting somewhat peaceful around here. Now all heck is going to break loose. Tell you the truth, I'd much rather face the USSA then be anywhere close to Panda right now :D

Oh and thanks for the explaination EQ... I think.

Arthur MacGregor, Prime Minister of Canada, sat behind the large oak desk in what had become his office in the bunker at Fort King George. Brent Shilling, accompanied by a 30 something woman holding a manilla folder, sat in the two chairs across from MacGregor. Shilling was a young, eloquent MP from Toronto who belonged to the opposition Tory Party. He had developed a reputation of making passionate speeches, while at the same time showing undue respect to his peers, even those that disagree with him.

"I'm glad you could see us at such short notice Prime Minister" he said, with a small half bow from his chair. "My companion, Marissa Harding, is a member of the Red Cross."

"Prime Minister, the Red Cross is concerned about all the civilians being harmed in this conflict, even this early on." she said handing him the folder. MacGregor leafed through it while she talked. It was full of pictures of wounded civilians, a long line of refugees, what appeared to be surrendering soldiers and bombed out buildings. It also had a number of reports and estimates showing the amount of supplies the Red Cross had and what they thought would be needed.

"As you can see, many people have been hurt already by this war, many of them innocent civilians trapped between the two armies. With all the fighting, many people have been misplaced and lack proper food, medicine and clothing. Though we have a large store of supplies, as you can see from the reports, we lack the ships necessary to transport them to the people who need it most. We have presented a bill into Parliment asking for the Canadian government to assist us in this capacity. But we are afraid with out your personal mark of approval and the help of your party that it will viewed as silly or unnecessary. We feel that only Canada can help us in getting the aid to those who need it." Harding said with a tight smile on her face.

"I know of your organization and its mission" MacGregor said with a nod. Like most veterans of the Great War, he had seen the crazy bastards with the big red crosses painted on their vehicles driving around bring food, blankets and free medicine to the numerous civilians displaced throughout the war, even going right up to the fronts to help people out. "I can see, as your people do, that this war is probably going to get nasty. But I'm no fan of the Communists, especially with what has happened in our country lately and I have no love lost with the New Englanders. While I agree that such aid is probably needed, I'm not sure such an action would be in our best interest at this time."

Hardings face visibily feel and Shilling looked disappointed but not very surprised. MacGregor leaned forward, clasping his hands together and smiling said "But I think we can work something out."

********

After its unanimous passage in Parliment, Canada is implementing the Red Cross Relief Act. Canadian freighters, accompanied by a platoon of soldiers to make sure the aid gets to the proper people and that no harm comes to Red Cross workers, will be used to transport food, medicine, blankets, clothing and mail to refugees, prisoners of war, and displaced civilians to major ports in the USSA and New England. We ask both countries to honor the neutrality of Canada in this conflict as a go-between and the good name and good will of the Red Cross in sending aid to those noncombatants who need it most. We hope that with such help early on, neither country will experience the massive loss of civilian life caused during the Great War and civilians will be able to go about their lives as best they can.

The Lower House proves indecisive

The Lower House has been unable to form any kind of government in any way shape or form. Nearly every plan is shot down before it gets off the ground. With such a crisis it's unknown what is to occur next. The current administartion is pushing to allow the continuation of the current government for another 5 years until the next senatorial elections. Meanwhile the socialists has been outspoken to this unconstitutional measure. The Soci party has joined their bandwahgon, and now the two polar opposite sides have been calling out for new elections; for both houses of government. This case of leadership is expected to go before the supreme court sometime later this month; urgency cutting through the red tape.

Announcement from the USSA
The USSA Navy has been effectively blockading the Ports of the Fascist New England Regime, any ships attempting to bypass the blockade will be seized, its cargo confiscated and its crew (and any human cargo) repatriated.

From USSA
To Canada

We appreciate your attempt to provide relieve to the civilians but we cannot allow ships through the blockade, the best way to relieve the suffering of civilians is to put pressure on the Fascist new England government to step down and allow a people's government to be formed, then peace will follow.

From USSA
To the peoples of New England
The USSA is willing to start peace negotiation as soon as the fascist regime is replaced by a people's government.

From Quebec

On the USSA invasions
We strongly disagree with the aggressive invasions you have committed upon your neighbors and believe that the USSA should withdraw from all areas it has so egregiously invaded without warning or cause. We here in Quebec will open our borders to any and all refugees from the conflict, but will not condone any military personnel to cross our borders.

update will have to be sunday evening as my schedule does not permit any time sooner and i realized that i havent announced any update date at all. My apologizes for the slowness.

Lurker's Comment:

I demand Swiss fulfill his responsibilities!

;)

I actually find this humorous EQ, just make sure you do your research on us Mormons before you post anything controversial and inaccurate ;)

To people of New England
From Senator Hawkings

Brothers, the red dawn has finally come to enslave us all. Did I not say time and time again that they would come for us? They say they would negotiate with a free democratic government, but what do they know of freedom and respect? They abide by a militaristic dictatorship, set on denying the very principals of a free man to run his life and his affairs, oppressing him with their military strength and unquestionable brutality. They don't recognize anything but their so called Utopia, one where they would see us all tolling away in famine and strife on collective farms!! We, the duly elected body of the New England Confederacy, call upon all of this countries citizens to stand firm against the tyranny of the USSA, to resist with every fiber of your being, until they have been driven out of our homelands, and paid back in full for what they have done to us, and what they intend to do with us still...

To USSA
From New England Confederacy

Your unlawful aggression will be stopped!! No matter what it takes, no matter what the cost, you will not win!!! Freedom for New England and it's people and death to the communist swine of the USSA!!!!

@Nylan, the problem with accuracy is that it's boring. Mormons are the ones who drink blood, right?

and worship seagulls, yes ;)

as long as it's not offensive i see no problem. Anyone with questions can easily ask one of us LDS posters. Just causing a little stir :p

case and point: polygamy

but who cares? Don't mind me. Back to the bloodshed!

I only have orders from Mexico, Louisiana, and USSA. Update is tomorrow. Even if they are the only to send, i'll still do the update.
