I think what I'll get after Metroid Prime are Zelda: The Wind Waker and NCAA Football 2003. (I'll probably ask for them for Christmas.) I might also get either Super Monkey Ball or The Simpsons: Hit and Run, unless you have any better ideas.

Skip the simpsons and get Mario Kart instead (which comes out middle of November). I also suggest expanding your GBA collection before getting Super Monkey Ball 2 (provided you find it of course). I hate sports games, but that decision is ultimately up to you.

I only say SSBM is a must-have because it's Nintendo's tribute to itself, not just a fighting game. Otherwise, it comes down to personal opinion, just like how I never really got into Metroid Prime.

Sounds like a good idea. I've always liked MK, and although reviewers seem to be saying that this Simpsons game finally breaks the rule of Simpsons video games sucking, somehow the thought of playing a game centered around the Simpsons doesn't sound promising.

Nah, I probably won't do that until I find out that I'll be going on some sort of trip (field trip, vacation, etc.). That's really the only time I play handheld games; otherwise I prefer home consoles. As for what game to get, I'm now torn between Sonic Advance 2 (which is called the first truly innovative and great Sonic game since Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for Genesis) and/or Advance Wars (which you, and many others, say is the best GBA game). I'll probably go with SA2 first, since I already get plenty of warring satisfaction from Civ3:PTW.

Well, I've always prefered Sega. :p

That's why I have a GB Player, GBA games on the gamecube, so I only use my GBA on trips. The picture quality is great, and it's not pixelated at all. The only strange part I see is the small D-pad, but you could always use the GBA as a controller (or so I heard). Of course, I don't expect you to spend another $50, but just to tell you that some GBA games are better than the GC ones.

How many times must I say this, Advance Wars 2 makes Civ3: PTW look like crap. :p

It's not just the best GBA game, it's the best strategy game I have ever played, because it's so simple but can be as deep as Civ3. Especially since the combat system in Civ3 is flawed. Plus Advance Wars can be multiplayer, Hotseat style with one GBA, or link style with multiple GBAs, and it goes MUCH faster than and less tedious than Civ3. Honestly, the only thing Civ3 has better is CFC. ;)

Plus you don't need *another* sonic game, use more variety and get the constantly praised AW2.

That may be so, but I currently have a multiplayer and a PBEM game going, and I feel obligated to continue them. I can only handle so much thinking in one day. :D However, by the time I finish these games I might be bored with Civ3, and it'd make sense to buy AV2. On the other hand, sometimes the time between two PBEM turns and/or two multiplayer sessions can be fairly long (as in longer than a day), in which case I have no way of satisfying my strong strategy gaming urges ;), which I would if I bought AV2.

And no, I don't need another Sonic game, but you could say that I don't need another strategy/war game, except for the fact that AV2 makes PTW look like crap, but apparently the same is true with Sonic Advance 2 and Sonic Advance. :p

And I guess another possibility is the new Final Fantasy game, and whatever that GBA Zelda game is called. But I've never played a Final Fantasy game before... Also, I could pass on Sonic Advance 2, and wait for Sonic Heroes for the Gamecube, which looks pretty good. *sigh* Decisions, decisions... Heck, ever since I got a Gamecube I've spent more time thinking about what games to get next than actually playing them. :D

But Advance Wars 2 DOES make PTW look like crap :p (I think I'll become a broken record soon ;) ) Besides, what's more fun than watching cute tank spirtes rolling up and blasting away at a bunch of infantry (which only fly off the side of then screen)? :p

I've never played a Final Fantasy game either, but I think I'll just wait for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (calm down, it's not coming until February or so ;) ) for the GCN. The GBA Zelda is just a port of Link to the Past on the SNES, with a small added multiplayer Four Swords. I think I've spent more time thinking about what games to buy than actually playing them as well :D

Out of curiosity, did you get the nice Platinum gamecube? Platinum (and Silver) rocks :D

Nope, I got the purple one, since I think it looks the best. At first glance silver and black look cooler, but I think I'd get tired of looking at black or platinum for a while, but purple never seems to get tiring.

I have a platinum GBA SP, though. Too bad I didn't wait till the fire ones came out.

Purple's too dark and dull, black is too common (makes it look the same as the other two consoles). Platinum is shiny, but that's only because silver is my favorite stand-alone color. Plus it matches my platinum TV. :p

Oh, just for the heck of it, the silver ones are called "platinum" the purple ones are called "Indigo" the black ones are called "Jet" the orange ones are called "spice" and the teal ones are called "mint" As for the GBA colors, the blue ones are called "cobalt" I believe, and the black ones are called "onyx" I don't know the rest. :crazyeye:

Hmm, is Nintendo headed by a woman now? ;)

 Better to have all these crazy color names than no colors at all. Besides, that's what Nintendo does, stand out from the rest. Take the logos for instance. PS2's is very bland, and the Xbox one could be a lot more creative than a big X. The GC's however, has the little cube rolling around into a big cube that spells out the letter G, but also look at the black lines between the G and you'll see that it spells out a C for GC. It sure took me a while to notice that. :p

That's not saying much, IMHO.

No FF? Tsk, tsk. That series is second only to Zelda. However, I don't consider FFTA or CC to REALLY be FF games, but I'm rather a purist on such things.
BTW Silverflame, Tactics Ogre and Golden Sun are both better than Advance Wars (1 or 2). :p

All right then, it makes Civ2 look like crap :p

But would FFT be considered part of the Final Fantasy series? Or is the only Final Fantasy the ones with numbers after them? Then by that definition, Metroid Prime is not part of the Metroid series... (okay, I guess that's true, but that's not necessarily a BAD thing is it?)

I would play Final Fantasy if I had more time... I mean it's not that hard to go out and buy FF7 for the PC. I'm considering buying FFTA but I'm not sure if I even have the time for that...

As for that last bit, I guess it's all a matter of opinion then :p

$99?! Woo I feel interested to get a GC now. It's now the same price as a GBASP.

Holy ****.

Well, I missed out on the free game deal, I missed out on the $99 deal, and I lost my GameBoy Advance SP. Obviously, this means that Nintendo has allied with Satan.

 Hope you're internet access doesn't break down and your Civ3 PTW disc explode, I heard Sid Meier's been having "talks" with Satan already :p

On a serious note, you missed out on the free game deal as well? Ouch. :cringe:

Civ2 IS saying something. :p
As for FF, I say FFTactics and Adventure aren't really FFs because they don't follow the RPG formula. I-X and Legends do. MP is Metroid because it still follows the basic metroid style. See my point? You have diferent standards of classification, but I stand by my assesment.

@WillJ I got mine for $199 w/o a free game, so don't feel too bad. I'd hate for you to commit suicide over this. ;)

Okay, now I understand :)

Well, I've made up my mind, I'm getting FFTactics Advance, I don't feel like waiting any longer. ;)

$199 w/out a free game? Ouch. Where do you live?

He probably bought it when it first came out.

I thought it came out as $150 w/ a free game. Or was that a bit later?
