Well, I beat the first level of Metroid Prime, and I'm starting to like it. (I actually beat it a while ago; just didn't post yet.)

I do find changing the battery may be a bit hassling, with that screw in place though...

You can play a game while charging the battery, but obviously it will recharge more slowly. And yes, charging the battery when it's not near-empty will shorten the life-span. (But from what I understand, the normal span is about 500 hours, which is plenty for me.) To be safe, just recharge when the light turns red.

And I don't think charging the battery is all that bad, considering you save a bunch of money and you can usually reach a power source within 10 hours (the play limit without recharging, with the light on).

It's $30 to have a spiffier design, a backlight, and rechargable batteries. It's cheaper to get a GBA-kit, costs about $15. You get a battery pack, light, and some other stuff. Of course, using unofficial tools on your Gameboy voids the Nintendo warranty.

Golden Sun's probably your best bet. Plays like a classic RPG, and judging by it's success and sequel, it should be pretty good.

There's Castlevania, but I've never really cared for the games

There's Boktai, where you fight vampires by using sunlight in real life

There's always the Nintendo classics. Zelda, Mario, Metroid...

Advance Wars is the best strategy game I've ever played, but the warfare is modern

When Fire Emblem comes out in early November, it's going to be awesome. Mix of Advance Wars and FFTA, I'm definately getting that for sure. Until then, I suggest getting Golden Sun. And if you really enjoy it, then maybe get the sequel as well.

Gamecube's outselling Xbox and PS2 in North America now, and the GBA SP is above both. Hopefully the GCN's lead will last longer due to Viewtiful Joe.

Speaking of Viewtiful Joe, has anyone gotten it yet? I'm trying to get it once I have the time, but FFTA is enough company for me

I think Metroid Prime is the best game for the Gamecube, but requires a strategy guide to beat. Without the guide, I wouldn't have gotten past the second level because of how complex it is. It is one of those games that you can't beat in one sitting.

THANK YOU! That's why I have such a hard time getting into Metroid Prime! Because I suck so much at it that I needed a guide starting from the second level, which makes me feel guilty!

Now that I (think) have finally found the problem, I would give MP another chance if I had the time... but since I can only get an hour or two a day, between FFTA, soon Viewtiful Joe, later Fire Emblem and Mario Kart, there's not much room.

I know where the guides are, but I felt stupid having to use it so soon. Especially when it just so happened that the first one I choose was saying how if you have problems with the first level, then you may as well return the game.

Hmm... I wouldn't really know because I never play sports games, but it looks like All-Star Baseball 2004 is the best one out there.

I also got a PS2 and X-box and GameBoy Advance SP

Got Metroid Fusion, Mario Kart and Advance Wars 2 for the GBA.

With the GameBoy->GameCube cable you get the original Metroid game in Metroid Prime, and you get to visit an Island in Animal Crossing, you can play Nes games on the GBA from Animal Crossing.

A friend also got Soul Calibour 2 to GC, I got it to PS2. But both of us have Arcade Controls to the PS2 with PS2->GC controller converters, so we can use all PS2 controls on GC too.

I hear the sequal's better. It's like comparing Advance Wars 1 & 2 I think... the second one just offers a lot more.

You should probably get the sequel, although I like some of the versions of the mini games in the first better. Although, Super Monkey Ball 2 is almost the same thing as the first game, with more stuff, and some different stuff.

So yeah, get the sequel.
