More Updates. (Really just a bump post).

But anyways, I wonder if I should get this game started and people could join up anytime during the game...(since no one is joining now). People may think "hell, I can do better than that kid". idk, just an idea.

Oh, also, 24-hour limit. You must download the game, play your 15 turns, and upload the game within 24 hours. (I think that's reasonable).

Well, this post really wasn't as bad as the previous bumbs.

I might be interested. I've never played civ MP before, and am currently playing at Prince difficulty where I can usually survive but get out-teched and out-scored a bit. Am usually in the middle of the scores on the left.

I assume SG's are cooperative amoungst the humans?

Yes, in SGs we, humans, take turns playing one game. I'll start the game and upload the savegame file here online, then the next person in the roster plays the game for the amount of turns set. (We'll do 15 turns). Then, that player uploads the savegame file and the next player on the roster plays his/her 15 turns, etc.

OK, having gotten home from work, I had the chance to read some of the other SG threads. Between those and your explanation, I think I understand how SG's work now. When were you planning on starting? And if a given player was unable to play for one of his scheduled rounds, someone else would jump in or a day delay would be allowed, right?

Lastly, if I did join, would you be willing to set up a tiny game just so I can make sure that I can download and upload the save games correctly? - I'm sure it's trivial, but haven't done it yet.

As soon as we feel that we all are ready to play. (Hopefully this weekend if more people decide to join )

Normally, if a player is unable to play his / her round, that player is skipped and the next player in-line on the roster will be selected to download and play. That's probably what we'll do. It'll help if one would notify us that he / she wouldn't be able to play on Saturday (as an example). Then, we could rearrange the roster order to suit accordingly.

This game definitely has the potential to be big, but it probably won't be huge. There are 10 players in this game, so towards the end this game may reach 1MB. Downloading and uploading saved games are very simple. You download the game by clicking on the link attached to the bottom of one's post. Then, you would open up the game in Civ IV: Warlords, play the game for your allotted turn amount, save the game, and attach it to a post here.

I'd like to join if possible. All the setting look OK to me.
