...when the OWNER researches dynamite? Seems weird that an invading army with high explosives would be slowed by something like that... it barely even kept the Mongols out at times.

I was attacking the Inca (Who suddenly decides they wanted to be warmongers and conquer half the map) after they were dumb enough to DoW me while I was an era and a half ahead of them in tech and they were already at war. The Great Wall was troubling and I didn't yet have Dynamite, so I waited and had to watch them eliminate Denmark and conquer half of Arabia while I built-up an army, constructed Brandenburg Gate and waited dilligently for Dynamite. When that came, I thought I could upgrade my artillery, march my units through and make mayhem. Then I notice moving one tile through their territory takes up all my movement points.

Is this new in G&K or was it this way in vanilla too? If it's intended to be that way, it sucks. :(

It's gotten even worse with how much they buffed city strength... I'm getting guys a full era ahead of him dropped to like 6 HP before I can get in a melee attack. If they keep the city strength this strong, they gotta do something about Great Wall bc it makes you way too impossible to attack, numbers be damned.

Well after I took their first city by brute force (Heavy casualties and multiple retreats included), it got a little easier bc their next city hadn't expanded 3 full tiles out yet. I just post a cavalry unit outside their borders, 2 artillery 3 hexes away and keep having the cavalry move a tile forward, open fire, then pull back. After about 4 turns this should work.
