Family Guy is definetely more than a cult hit now - its become a mainstream hit. 1 million DVDs sold! Fox once again proves how ahead of the curve they can be - and then how much they are enslaved to ratings. Everyone in my school watches Family Guy. Hell, I have a Jewish friend who watched the "Wish Upon a Weinstein" episode! And he loved it!

It just wasn't funny to me, and the plots made no sense! Also, I can't stand that little baby that tries to kill his family every episode. That got old, fast.

The plots make no sense, yes. Do they have to. If you watch the rest of the shows on Adult Swim - Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab - its clear that a rational plot is optional. Oh, and Stewie is genius. He doesn't try to kill the family every episode, he is Stewie every episode. His language and mannerisms never get old, and Brian is his perfect foil. They even played this up by doing those "Road to..." Spoofs.

That and the over-un-pc-ness with which it is done, though South Park is quite bad in that regard as well.

The point of Family Guy and South Park are too make jokes that you don't expect to hear. I wouldn't call it over-un-pc-ness - they don't make the jokes for pure shock value - because they are actually funny.
