So, it's October again, what are you doing for Halloween?

I still dress up, even though we don't go out and instead just hand out candy and then eat the leftovers. :yumyum:

I have yet to figure out a costume idea for this year.

Usually by now I would have picked up candy for the trick-or-treaters. Don't get many of them, but I like to have some on hand, and I'm happy to eat the remainder. I don't wait until they are leftovers. Just pick up more if I go through the whole bag.:D

Haven't dressed up in years. I'll give some thought to what I would dress up as.

I have a wind-up chattering skull that clips onto my shirt pocket and that I wear to work on Halloween. 💀

I think this year a haunted park or house of some sort.

Here is a site to find one nearby.
It sort of works for each state, but some hotels also slip in sometimes.

They also have the top scariest in each state. :)

Also:

Love me some David S. Pumpkins.

Last time I truly dressed up I was a late teen. Went with a Freddie Krueger mash up, made me a glove with long tin foil spikes and glued my scout's staff with a tin foil reaperesque blade.
Also remember flailing my members randomly to MJ's thriller in some friend's garage.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane with this thread @danjuno
Wife likes decorating the house interior with Haloween ish stuff but we don't cater to kids trick or treat visits...I don't think they come to where I live either.

Oh, ok. I'll share my best ever homemade costume.

I hand made a Darth Vader mask when I was a kid. Balloon the size of my head. Paper mache on the balloon to make the mask. Multiple layers for sturdiness. Eyes cut out with an X-acto knife. Cardboard for the mouthpiece and those ridges that start at the eyebrows and arc down to the bottom of the mask. Spray-painted black.

Major craft project for however old I was then: 12, 13. But man was I motivated to get this thing right.

I'm going to make a mini pumpkin out of a satsuma.

By "pumpkin" I of course mean a carved thing with a face.

I am very unimaginative and lazy when it comes to this sort of thing. My dressing up usually means putting on my old diner jacket. For halloween I try to be Dracula, with some fake blood around my mouth. Other dressing up it is usually something like James Bond with a toy gun.

Halloween is not that much of a thing here, but I really liked the red cross blood drive they had in Hamburg. Would have supported it, if I would have been close. According to the news they served pumpkin soup and many of the donators came dressed up.

I just worked. So nothing really special except consumption of candy went up for a day.

Five trick or treaters last night, down from last year. I guess we will keep the lights off next year.

That’s been relatively common these days. I recall the trend happening sometime in the mid 1990s or so (though I was in middle school at the time and getting too old to go out tick-or-treating). Most of the time, trick or treaters, just attend Halloween parties hosted by schools, city/town recreational departments and local community organizations.

My folks stopped passing out candy sometime around the mid 2000s when the kids on the street eather out grew the trick or treating ritual or attended parties hosted by schools and local community orgs.

Not really a thing here. It exists to sone extent. A group of morons dressed up as KKK up north. Made the rounds on social media.
