The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

Alpha Prime for 0.99€, haven't tried it before, heard both good and bad things about the game. We'll see

Just took advantage of the Steam Sale.

Bought me

Europa Universalis III Complete
The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut
Braid
LucasArts Adventure Pack
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

£27.27 in total. EUIII seems to be thought of highly here so it's surely worth a shot. I'd like a good RPG so Witcher might be interesting

Did you not get the gold edition that has Barbarian Invasion?

EDIT: Bought the following off off www.gog.com :
Soldiers: Heroes of WW2
Postal 2: Classic and Uncut via Postal 2 Complete
Psychonauts
Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader (I wanted a digital backup copy, especially for Stronghold as my disc has seen better days)

I did, which makes it even more of a bargain. I had to buy it for the nostalgia factor and to return to a time when TW games were made with a degree of effort and compassion.

Excuse the obvious question but in addition to BI does RTW Gold come with the Alexander expansion as well? I'm sure I've got the games lying about somewhere but for £1 that could be worth it

Not this bull again.

Back to new old school games,

Caslevania 4 (SNES),
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turntles 4: Turtles In Time (SNES),
Super Metroid (SNES),
Snake Rattle 'n Roll (NES),

and I got ONE new school game:
New Super Mario Bros Wii (WII).

I know I already mentioned it earlier, but it's made me hate Mario games again.

Killing Floor makes a good distraction from L4D2. There's no kind of vs mode, it's only coop, but the coop is quite good. It plays more like Zombie Panic than L4D2 (but again, it's only coop).

I can't say it's better than L4D but at $10 I am satisfied.

I also picked up AI War. I've actually owned it for several months, but have now really sunk my teeth into it, and it is really worth taking a second look if you've passed this up earlier (the new 2.0 update polishes the game a lot)

So you think Empire was made with a degree of effort and compassion?

Rome wasn't perfect upon release by any stretch of the imagination, but at least it worked out of the damn box.

Empire was a joke.

Empire was indeed a joke - big, bloated, boring and broken. Did they ever actually fix the AI naval invasions? I'm still kicking myself for spending money on Empire, after Medieval II I resolved not to bother with CA's titles anymore, but like an eejit I impulse-bought it afew weeks after it was released, unsurprisingly was a waste of money.

I stopped caring about TW after Barbarian invasion.

Anyway, got Mario-Sonic olympics for christmas as well as god of war 1 and 2 for ps3 and some timeshift game my parents randomly got me. My brother also got some avatar game for the wii, some Tales of Vesperia thing for 360, and my sister got some of those wii exercise games. Not anything I really care much for but whatever. Will probably also be picking up a few more things from the online sales.

Afaik naval invasions were broken in Rome and M2 at first too, and yeah they fixed them in Empire.
