The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

I got way too many games to count on Steam. I love this sale, and even then, its not over yet.
I've spent 70$ and got over a dozen excellent games.

I returned the crappy Avatar PSP game my family got me for Christmas and picked up Civilization Revolution for PS3, and Killzone Liberation and Crisis Core: FF7 for PSP. I can't believe Avatar was worth that much, although I was helped by a buy-two-get-one-free sale for used games at Gamestop :)

So you think Empire was made with a degree of effort and compassion?

Rome wasn't perfect upon release by any stretch of the imagination, but at least it worked out of the damn box.

Empire was a joke.
I didn't have any overriding problems with the game on release that I didn't have with any of the other TW releases.

Just bought the Max Payne bundle, as well as Osmos, Tropico reloaded, Deus Ex, STALKER Clear Sky, and Children of the Nile bundle on STEAM. Probably it unless I see some other interesting daily sales.

Also got the simcity box from Best buy before for $20 from gift cards. It has simcity 4 and societies, which I heard wasn't so good but it can't hurt.

I heard Societies sucked, but I actually found it more enjoyable than SimCity4. The only fun I got out of Simcity4 was taking the apache out for a spin, but can do that in GTA:SA too.

Went on an oldie but goodie binge on Amazon:

MoO3 (I know it sucks, but I heard it's good when patched to 1.25, and there's several mods to improve it; Plus MoO2 tactical battles sound painful on wrist).

ARMA gold (not really old, but probably last thinking shooter I can run before upgrading).

NWN Diamond (Have NWN2, but not really impressed with all the patching required nor the complexity of the module editor; NWN Diamond is fully patched, and hopefully simpler to edit modules, plus a Bioware campaign).

Fallout Trilogy (don't have Fallout 3, haven't played any of this stuff except Wasteland).

Dragonshard (Hankering for some HoMM type play, but figure Real-time is quicker. HoMM turn-bassed play looks tedious on youtube, too).

i got dark messiah of might and magic.

I just got a PS3 for Christmas. I didn't buy any games yet, but had several rented out from the local Blockbuster. They're going out of business and began sellign everything today. All games were $20, and I still had CODMW2 rented, so I got it and a couple of other games.

I recently got Heir to the Throne for EU3

Needless to say, I'm lost

So Basically you have Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics? The ones you have gotten, is it a windows version or DOS? (not a 100% sure on that).

The only thing that would be of issue for me is:
1. Is it Wide-screen compatible
2. Can it be run in windowed mode if it's not widescreen compatible

I bought Morrowind awhile ago but I've just recently started playing it

I am absolutely overjoyed at the whole Roman thing the guards have going on

would you happen to have a link? the only one I've found seems to have not been finished

So I've been a way from these forums since Christmas because my downtime has been occupied with playing my new games:

Left 4 Dead 2
Dragon Age
Borderlands
Ghostbusters
Assassins Creed 2

All for Xbox 360. Assassin's Creed 2 is my favorite out of the bunch, the ending was kind of a surprise and I look forward to the sequel. Borderlands is good, but after getting to level 50 half way through my second playthrough, I didn't see a point in finishing (I had played myself out by than).

I am not disappointed but I'm not in awe of L4D2 either. It isn't that much of an improvement over the original. But I have yet to play the new game modes (scavenge and the other one I can't think of).

Dragon Age is a great RPG, but I only played it through once so far, and haven't found the motivation to play through again, but I'm getting there :)

I wish AC2 would come out for PC finally. Ive been wanting to play it since I finished AC1 a couple months ago.

Its a great game. One of the first improvements I noticed (and significant IMO) is that you aren't being pulled in and out of the assassin's world between DNA sequences. You finish one, and you just keep playing in the past, you don't have to get up and go to bed than reenter the machine. And you keep playing when the main storyline is over, so you can continue to finish side quests or find the easter eggs :)
