The Immortal Challenge Lineup - Game #28 Spain

Ha ha!

I'll post the maps in the order they show up in the mailbox. Consentients Zulu is next! I will roll a map for The Huns.

So basically what you are saying is that the next Immortal challenge will be more difficult than Immortal, but less than Deity ?

Honestly it might suit a category of players, but Immortal is already pretty hard for me...

My personal opinion is that the hardcore of the ICL is so small, even compared with the DCL, that imagining there is a way to divide it into categories, is a little bit funny, really.

If Immortal games are hard for you, we are willing to give help, but I think most of us would like something a little more challenging, at least some of the time.

Have you watched my Immortal videos to get some ideas?

My Mongolia map will be about average difficulty. Of course, I am critiquing the ones I've rolled so far with DomV in mind. I've had some really great maps come up, but with one or two really irritating features.

You have a point, then again i'm not your regular follower...long time lurker here. I still think there is many-many people playing Civ 5 at the moment, and the large majority of them are not Deity level players :).

I have not watched your videos, i'll check it out later on, thanks

OK, Nige, if yours is normal, maybe it will soothe those who find my 'Shaka Stack' map too much.

Stack as in, some things are stacked against you.

It's Immortal+. If people don't like it, I'll never email another one to G.R.

Wow, I am on my 10th map so far, so much variety. Last one looked crazy easy, this one infuriatingly hard (for Keshik DomV). I cook the settings (5 Billion years, Arid) with "easier" AI. Save the start, reload with IGE, add Worker, Scout, 2 more Warriors. Run 1 turn in Firetuner, then add Colosseum, Market, and Bank. Then run 50 turns, another 50, etc., and monitor.

How do you others test? Play 50+ turns?

Well I was heavily cooking my map but then the game crashed, hopefully not big of a setback

edit: another crash. May have to settle only with a cooked map, not cooked AIs

I don't have Firetuner, so all my changes are T1. I moved the warrior, didn't settle.

Turn 1 gave the AI the advantages, and then saved.

Firetuner may give good information about how it plays out, but when you see my Zulu map you'll understand why ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.

I wont make any judgement. I'll post them as they come. But I will not post all at once so there will be time to roll some better if you feel the need!

Ha, ha! Opened The Zulu map to make a screenshot and it managed to piss me off and want to kill everything on turn 1

I could have beat stormt if I'd emailed mine earlier! :p But I decided to play a while - the map may be easy, but the start is so food poor!

:P

The potential for uber growth on my map is right there, all you need to do is play right. I can post it here anyways, there's (as always) a theme with the AIs ;)

Yeah I went for an AI theme too. Happy days :)

Well, my theming bonus :D is all kinds of lame and predictable and probably not even original

It would be cool if you could get to name the theming bonus and edit it. .... but its put in a way that makes sense. ..i,e.
Random civ classical art + random civ classical art = museum of random civ classical art

T77 game is allready over ...

Spoiler :
got lucky with the lake, picked up the tile 1 turn before CS expand border.
But well its just stupid, i got ToA HG oracle MoH and NC up at turn 75. (whole continent has my religion aswell)
The insane groth from the lake gives this city a huge production for the early game, had to stop groth at 5pop cause no more 2prod tiles to work and the main problem is the hapiness to handle this insane groth.
at turn 80ish i got 50 food on capitol aswell but the prod is not really high tbh.

What would be the fastest VC at this point? frigate domV(if coastal capitals)? science? culture? diplo?

i'll prob go for DV cause i didnt make one from now.

the fastest on a map like this would be Futurism CV, which could be pulled off well under 200 turns
