The Invasion of Kuwait Mod+Scenario v1.21 for BTS 3.19

This mod encompasses the Invasion of Kuwait that was fought by Iraq and Kuwait for a few days in August, 1990. It is a large regional map of the southeastern Iraq/Kuwait/Iran complete with 3 civilizations, accurate roads, resources, and cities. Iraq and Kuwait start at war.

Includes new wonders, unique national wonders, unique buildings, Shia and Sunni Islam, and tons of unique units.

On August 3, 1990, the UN Security Council passed Resolution 660 condemning the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and demanded Iraq to unconditionally withdraw all forces deployed in Kuwait -Resolution No. 660 on 2 August 1990, all of which demanded an end to the aggression against Kuwait, the withdrawal of the invading forces, the preservation of Kuwaiti material and other properties, maintenance of Kuwait's demographic character, and the cessation of all acts of killing. happiness for Kuwait

I played it, and I think you did a good job. :)

If you ever update this mod, you should add more civs, like nearby countries and the ones that aided Kuwait during the war. While not perfect, it's still a good mod.

Thanks. You'd Like to expand the map? I didn't want to do that to focus on the invasion since I was thinking of making a gulf war mod down the road that would basically do what you are talking about.
 
Maybe add the US and Russia as unplayable Civs, who will intervene with the promise of resources?

Good suggestions. I'm not sure if that is possible if they are not on the map. In the meantime, take a look at the embassy buildings if you haven't already. They provide happiness in all cities in the same manner resources would.

In addition, there is a Kuwaiti event on August 3 I believe where they offer assistance in the form of gold and an air unit promotion. You can also trade with Iran for resources. I definetly wanted to incorporate international diplomatic and logistic assistance that you suggested and tried my best two with those two features.
 
Or maybe expand it into a Gulf War scenario with American troops on the Saudi border and Soviet ones...somewhere.

An expanded version of this scenario would be fun to play. :)

If you're not going to add more civilizations to the scenario at the moment, I don't think it would be a good idea to expand the map. The map already has a bunch of empty space, so maybe you could make a smaller map that focuses on the areas around Iraq, Iran, and Kuwait. You could remove a lot of the eastern part of the map that isn't being used. A smaller map would be nice for people who want to play shorter games.

Also, do you plan on adding more techs, civics, buildings and wonders in the future? I can give you some ideas if you want me to.

You made a pretty good scenario, and I would like to see other scenarios made by you in the future. :)
 
Thanks for the positive feedback and I'll do my best to put out more mods time permitting.

Yeah, the only way I could have enough Iraqi cities and the western flank of their army was to have that open space, which is basically desert to the west. It does look odd, but I actually cropped it down from what it was.

Suggestions on additions are always welcomed. :)

BTW I didn't get a chance to put the event in as a quest, but the core event still exists where Kuwait gets "assistance" whenever Kuwait City is held at the end of the day.

I've been busy a school, but I've managed to merge a few mods with this for the next update. I also have plans for more to improve the gameplay and to add terrain/resources, etc. Here is what I have merged so far.

Added wonder capture message.
Added Defender Withdrawl
Added Occasional Promotion
Added gold from disband.
Added modern fishing boats from ethnic art styles
Added tech by conquest mod
Added common era mod
 
hmm, should maybe add Israel and have Iraq gain gold with every scud they manage to drop in (sort of arab donations for prestige) ,and also with a possibility of retaliation in case of aggravation.

also , some US/UK ships in the Gulf , just as target practice for Iraqi Exocets?
