You read it right! An Army from a goody hut!

This occured right after installing the new editor and playing on an older modified scenario, so I doubt it will happen again.

I wish I had taken a screenshot though.

Great bug!!! :D

There seems to be more goodies after the patch.

I was playing SP game, and got a skilled worker.

First time I ever got that.

I don't think it's a bug, a few people have also started threads about this...

I can't wait to download that new patch!

I guess it is possible, considering that even minor tribes can have some bright military minds ;)

Just as the subject says i was just playing a game and close to the end i got me a skilled ICBM. I was in the middle of a war so i used it to level my opponent's capitol.

Once upon a time I was playing a game as persia, minding my own business, when I red warrior stolled down to my capital. Funny, I don't remember putting the romans in this game....
I righ click on this guy, and it comes up..... Drumroll..... 'Contact barbarian elite warrior' WHAT THE...??? so i do this and the game promptly crashes. Dang. I load the game again, and, while chatting away with the japs, notice, in the 'communications tab' a 'contact with the barbarians'. HUH???
However, settling on this deal caused the game to crash. So, upon loading up again I forcefully ignore this evil red warrior, when........... BOMBOMBOM......... The 'barbarian leader' (portraitless) pops up in the diplomacy window offering me a territory map for the same. I immediately tell him to go away, and then look in the histograph, and they had a score of 91, clearly they had to do more than simply possess this rogue warrior.

I also got two settlers back to back in the same game.:goodjob:

The new patch is awesome!!!:D :D :D

This should make for some REALLY interesting new SGs.

That's got to be a bug!!! No way small tribes can ever hope to build ICBMs!!

Unless.... being that it's in the modern era... maybe it's a group of bandits (disgruntled nuclear scientist perhaps? :)) who have a nuke..?? Maybe they stole it! hehe..

I'm not so sure that that's a bug. I read in the patch readme that barbarians can build any unit if you are in the correct age (ie if you are in the modern era, barbarians can build modern armor). However, now that barbs can build any unit, Firaxis is experiencing a few bugs with regard to how the game treats the barbarians (ie PreTzeL_22's "barbarian nation"). *Sigh* Another thing that needs more patching. :(

Well until now, I never saw a free settler after about 3000 BC. I got one in 400AD :crazyeyes

Of course, I never saw a capital Self-destruct before. It had been there several years.

It seems that if the capital hasn't been there long enough to cause culture expansion and under normal circumstances you'd auto-raze the city, you'll auto-raze it. It seems to happen quite often during ancient conquests, as the capital will eventually bounce out to that nation's cultureless outer rim of cities

Sounds like thats what happened Lee. Nice horses you got there, btw. :D

I like the ICBM story. And I agree with Chieftess, its realistic, if you consider how "modern age barbarians" (terrorists) try to obtain nuclear weapons...

I have a feeling theres going to be alot of good stories coming with this new patch.

I like it! :nya2:

Can computers give Leaders?

I just started another game and in about 3850 BC using a scout I went to a nearby village and recieved a Leader. I used it (accidently BTW) to rush the Pyramids. So that should answer your question.

i got me two armies from the huts. thats right, two . it kinda rocks, especially since im at war....

scowny

(btw my first post!)

Remember a few months ago when nuke plans were found in one of the Afghanistanian mountains/camps? (with a few components). So, Firaxis is right on the money again in making a realistic sim. (sometimes the civs build and act so much like their real life counterparts, it's scary. :) )

Well, if they are making such a realistic sim, they should bring back the plant disease option, which was removed for (probably) political reasons! :D

I still think getting ICBMs from goody huts is over the top, but oh well... (Btw, 'skilled ICBM' doesn't really sound right, does it?)

I wonder if anyone got Stealth Bombers or Modern Armour from goody huts!

I've gotten a tank before, and once I got a new tribe with 2 new workers inside :D

I started several new games yesterday (expansionst civ, huge map), and I got nothing special!!! Just the same old deserted villages or 25g. On you it sounds you get settlers and armies regularly. Maybe it has something to do with the updated editor only.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be picking up the Baltimore Sun and reading "Local Company's software used to simulate city poisoning!".
