It's not my only criteria, and i've no idea what's meant with Bruce. But a short name is in general better than a longer name.

I offered a compromise. I plan on sticking to my campaign promises, but wont necessarily turn myself into a strawmanbearpigwhore in order for it to win.

Googling for "League of Extraordinary Strawmen" shows it to be in use here already. :)

I'm changing my vote to that, and adding this:

"I Am Pleased To Welcome You As A Member Of..."
    Spoiler :

    "...the League of Extraordinary Strawmen!

Edit: PS: A friend of mine suggests
    League of Exstrawdinary Gentlemen. :p

    Have not voted yet, but...

    I like...

    haystack
    Strawmageddon
    Shock and Strawe

It is going to be a tough decision. I'll have to think about it.

EDIT: After viewing the current status of the vote, and due to my disdain for strawmanbearpig, I must vote haystack.

It's cool, man. Actually, I still hope yours wins, because that'll still be funny as hell. But I said "if" and I'm stubborn. :p Good luck.

Edit: I guess I didn't use the word "if". But yeah.

    I voted haystack!
But all these names should not be forgotten, just because we make on official doesn't mean we should regulate straw-tastic hilairty to one word, right?

I like that we can use a lot of these.

If Mobby wants to hunt strawmanbearpig all power to him.

If a straw man gets out of hand it could become a wicker man.

An attempt to scare the opposition off by uttering the hallowed term could be a scarecrow, and if someone fell for such a gambit thy could be strawstruck.

If someone pops their head round the door of a thread and goes off on a tangent they could misconstraw. A more concerted attempt could be strawjacking, a shock and straw campaign to derail the thread, threatening to drag the thread down into strawmageddon.

Oh and the dutch should be able to use their word for haystack, which I find strangely satisfing.

Well, I lumped for Strawmanbearpig, since it was the funniest of the two front-runners. I'm quite looking forward to using it :)

I vote Strawmanure. Totally conveys the pile of crap it turns a thread into.

Also, memes are not democratic, they are mimetic.

Ultimately it comes down to what people choose to use, not what a top-down process designates as "correct" usage.

If people choose to use "strawmanbearpig" (which isn't funny imho, or at least not as funny as "haystack" or "LOES") then that's up to them, and the popularity of that term won't be positively or negatively affected by this poll.

    This isn't a meme.

It is a top down process if I decide, from the top, that it should be a top down process. Whether or not its a top down process is not a democratic but rather a top down process.
