The Modern Age livestream is coming December 17th!

That's Wednesday 18th December B.E. 2567. Bangkok time is about 9 or 10 AM.

What will FXis demonstrates?
A. Spain under Isabella becomes Mexico. (and what Soldaderas will be and looks like? a kinda cowgirls?)
B. Majpahit (under whoever, either King Asoke or Queen Zhēng Cè) became Siam. (Asoke is more in tune with Siam than Zheng).

The blurb on Steam News regarding the livestream contents.

The phrase "saved as a surprise" has some interesting connotations. They  could have been revealed earlier.

this would def lean towards Lili’uokalani then, cuz they could’ve revealed her alongside Hawai’i but didn’t

Similarly, Alexander, Genghis Khan, or Montezuma.

though i could see any of these, the implication is that it’s a modern leader considering the focus of the stream.

edit: i suppose this is wrong since it does say they could’ve been revealed earlier

With the Modern deep dive coming tomorrow (yay!), should we expect any more livestreams or long form gameplay videos from the devs between 12/7 and launch in February?

At some point, the streamers will gain access to a press build and we can watch a dozen different people play through the game.

Hopefully, that will be late January or so, but it could be as late as Early Access.

Yeah, I guess we shouldn't expect anything more from the devs between tomorrow and Youtube Early Access. It would have been fun to have had some of the streamers play through an Age transition after the Exploration Age livestream, but I guess this wasn't possible. I'm very very curious to hear what the streamers think of the age transitions / civ switching, but I guess we will have to wait for Early Access.

It's not tomorrow it's Thurs... wait. No. The 17 is tomorrow. I've messed up my week planning, arghhh!
The switch from Thursday to Tuesday doesn’t work especially well for me either. At least it's (mostly) during my lunch break.

Probably not a huge shock but nice confirmation that we will get some form of an industrial revolution mechanic, also some form of a world war mechanic.

I suspect they might do one more right before the (early access) launch in early February to celebrate the release, but the embargo for Youtubers and reviews may have lifted by then so we'll be drowning in footage to analyse. I think Firaxis like leaving the finer details for us to explore.

Excited for tonight because I feel this is where it all comes together. What are the victory conditions and how are they linked to the previous legacy paths? What mechanics have they chosen to inject a bit of life into the end game? Have they really managed to minimise snowballing? Going to be fascinating regardless!

I'm most excited not to see America but to see who America is playing against. Any guesses? As Mexico is the only Modern civilization listed on the Civ 7 site, I think they are a given. I would also guess we will be seeing France.

I really am looking forward to seeing how much they reveal!

Yeah, I'd guess they will primarily show the Modern civs that have been namedropped before this:

America
Mexico
Buganda
Mughals
France

I'm thinking one of either Qing or Russia will be present, to be led by Genghis Khan. Of course, if the Genghis prediction falls through, this means nothing.

Taking it one step further, if those are your guesses, then I'm guessing we are seeing the below leaders:

America - Franklin
Mexico - Isabella
Buganda - Amina
Mughals - Ibn Battuta
France - Napoleon

Mexico might be Pachacuti, since they had Isabella in a stream already. And likewise, Charlemagne could be for France, since he has had a recent FL and Napoleon's will probably be sometime soon.
