Civ players and modders... I'm sure you agree with me that we're seeing some great mods being released these days. I've downloaded and tried many of these already.

But what I'd really like to see, and I hope you agree with me here... is the players and modders making some kind of 'hall of fame', so to speak, of mods that are deemed a 'necessary' addition to the Civ IV experience.

As that list grows, I'd like to see the modders of these shortlisted mods collaborate together and merge these mods into a Supermod.

To phase 1 is to get interest in this project. If you are interested, please show your support by voting for what mods you deem vital to the game.

I've also included a poll to see what kind of an idea this is...

Great Scott, I am working on such a mod right now, the Great Options mod. There will be two versions a core version and then one that is fully loaded with everything possible.

The problem is, that many great mods are incompatible, even if you do find a way to merge together then it will be very unbalanced.

yes that was what I was thinking. It would be a monumental task. Civ 6 would be out before you coudl say it will be in Alpha soon. :crazyeye:
but I do like the idea of the hall of fame mod or something.

Maybe components could be taken from the mods and put into the same universal enivroment. Civs for each mod for instance, but this is all silly Ill keep quiet.

With the CCP we're aiming to make it so that mods are as pluggable as possible, with an in-game options screen allowing you to enable/disable them. This will only be able to work on the python & SDK aspects, but we're going for a simple drag & drop method where you can just drop new modcomps into the same directory, and, if configured correctly, they will show up on the in-game options screen, and work fine when activated.
