OK ... it's seems that Gods of Odds now turned their face from me ... I attacked with 1 ( freshly-promoted ) axeman the defenders of Phoenix but ... he died without being able to produce not a single scratch ! And meanwhile a wandering Mayan units was spotted close to my undefended units ... whithout anouncing any good or bad intention I assume that everthing is possible ... :(
So I call off the siege and propose a ( shamefull ) truce for 10 turns.

The new appointed Propaganda Ministry should find an good explanation for this ... because it's never good to blame a king, no ? :king:

The new Ottoman leader Khan needs to confirm these developments, however I can tell you that we shall be *enraged* if it is true that the Zulu armies attacked Phoenix while in the midst of negotiations for peace! I believe we were headed down a good path, what happened???

Really ? For me it seems like a quagmire ...

Anyway - did you received the save ?

I did not receive the save yet. It looks like its with rd13, then he sends it to me. I believe Espirito is still around so if it gets sent to him accidently I'm sure he will send it along... or get one last turn in with his old empire before it is handed over! :goodjob:

Well I still don't understand why it would take you that long. I mean, you're in an offensive position, either you attack or you don't. Shouldn't take you multiple tries...

I also finished a tech, had to change civics, and had to think of my next objective - and make my turn in 2 other games, all while being late to work :) But after this turn, I understand your anxiousness..

Sent now. Seems like the Sumerians overestimated their strength when attacking the Egypt.

Wow so you razed it and didn't lose a single thing. Alright then.

Well, that pretty much spells the end of my chances of winning with my horrible, horrible start. Pretty much got just one city with decent production. Looks like the rest of this game will be used to make sure you don't win.

Two gems, easily defensible position, horses and metal? Seriously bro...

The Ottomans are pleased to announce that under the peoples' leader, Anghis Khan, we have signed a peace treaty with Ioen I the Founder of Zululand. Even with talks stagnating and nearly breaking down in the final hour, the two leaders were able to find common ground and come to an agreement which will be mutually beneficial for the two empires. Khan and Ioen I have both agreed to support one another in future endeavors and work together to bring back the power of the West.

Well, the way i remember it, you were the one who attacked me after our deal, who had the larger army and twice my production, AND got the lucky dicerolls.

Hardly had twice your production; I've only ever had two cities that could produce anything, because I'm essentially trapped between two other people. And like you said before, your stack was actually bigger than mine when I actually started sieging you. Also, I assumed you wouldn't have copper cause that would just be WAY too lush of a start for you, but I assumed incorrectly and that's basically the whole reason why I lost.

Part of the reason why I had to assume that is because you spawned in a place that was completely immune to me scouting you at all, whereas you and etienne could just hang around my place and literally see everything.

And I got a total of one lucky dice roll, for which I got accused of cheating even though it didn't gain me anything. Your last 60% battle between your axeman and my archer is much luckier, IMO, because had you not won that, I'd still be in the game.

I did make mistakes, I'll admit, but in the end I don't think I was given much to work with with my start. Biggest mistake was probably building not one but two roads to my empire from yours, which made it practically impossible for me to defend, cause you had horses and not me.

Where is the game now ?

I have it in my inbox... I apologize, I had a weird night last night and never was able to get to civ so its been sitting on me along with 2 other games I'm holding up. There is good news though - I am off today, so I should get to it early this afternoon to send along. Sorry guys, usually I'm good with getting my turns in, but sometimes life just gets in the way!

It's all good, man! It happens to the best of us.

Btw, even though I've practically given up on winning this game, I *do* intend to play to the best of my abilities until such time as I'm destroyed or the game is conceeded. It's what I would expect any of you to do, so I shall valiantly play my turns regardless of my position in the game.

Diplomacy-wise, seeing as I have no real motivation for any diplomatic action in partcular, I'll play comp style. Right now, my attitude towards my neighbors is as follows:

Etienne +4 (Pleased)
+1: Years of peace have brought our peoples together
+3: Our open borders treaty makes our relations easier

Ardi -9 (Furious)
-1: You declared war on us!
-5: You razed one of our cities!
-3: This war spoils our relationship
