Our warrior needs a name! Any ideas? "Serpent child"?

He won! So we should name him Bear Slayer! Can't get google to translate that correctly for me, I get Urso Assassino which is not really what we're after. Rolo?

Mata-Ursos according to rolo. The other one could be serpent's child or whatever(the one in the city). Or maybe serpent's tongue?

Since there's been little input here, I took the executive decision to hand out a few names:

- Guarda do Olho is our capitol MP warrior.
- Saõ Gabriel is our exploring workboat, named after Vasco da Gama's ship.

If you want other names, speak up!

I like ninja or ninã for the workboat(but what you put is fine too), what is child of the eye in portoguese? or serpent's child as DM suggested?

I named our new worker Ilha Pedra. I'm sure you can figure it out if you try hard enough.

Excellent names they are; sorry I haven't been around for input but thanks again for keeping things up for our team over the holidays. I have such a paltry knowledge of Portuguese, (basically just cognates from Spanish, which I'm not even that fluent in from high school) but I'm nothing but pleased with the choices. I guess it would be a while, but the only idea I've yet had was to name one of the first units/map features relating to copper (axeman army, maybe even a city if we have to found a colony because Sullla hid it) after Francisco d'Anconia. From what I've seen there's quite a few people on CFC who know the reference, but maybe not, could be too annoying, could be used to annoy other teams, who knows.

In case you're wondering, he's an Atlas Shrugged character, a business tycoon, dealing with, you guessed it, copper. I have to say I've come up with some of my own nicknames for the corporations in BtS because the game just has such generic, cheesy ones and that is where this comes from. Those are much later in the game though, and a feature we might not make use of, so I thought the name could be pushed back earlier.

We need a name for our second town. After some discussion with Earthling on MSN, my suggestion is Sombra do Céu, meaning Shadow of Heaven. Remember that the mountain range is named Lacrimas do Céu, Tears of Heaven, and this town would lie in its shadow. And Sombra sounds like a Portuguese city name (e.g. Braga).

The new city can be named belly / gut / chest / whatever sounds cooler of the serpent. Basically the force that will drive us for millenia by the help of the river serpent.

How about just sepente for the new warrior?

Well, it's quite obvious to me. Mata-Urso was killed by a lion. Mata-Leão was killed by a bear. We should obviously just name the next one Matador, to be general enough to cover all possibilities.
