So the guy at #16 and the guy at #32 tell me to reconsider my statement, hmm ...
What did you do to get that much money?
Don't you worry Mr. Ziggy, I'll be bumping this thread for decades to come.
Smirk, but in all honesty, do you know a thing about my portfolio or ability by that ranking?
We start with $250K. I just started yesterday and only plopped down ~$100K. Most of my worth isn't even invested.
EDIT: if you look carefully at the portfolio values, it's only the top 3 that are significantly higher than the mid pack.
We will see.....
BTW WHAT DID THEIGE INVEST in? He sold short that the market would fall on the 5th?
What's the name of the game? I'm trying to join by searching by name because OP's link doesn't work anymore.
Great Merchants CIVFANTICS
I registered and joined. I've actually had an investopedia account for around a year but I never used it.
Aaaaaaand the market starts rising....
I'm guessing a short of BAC or CEDC was involved.
That makes... some sense. Thanks Whomp.
Treasury bills are not allowed in this game right? The outlook for them looks decent.
There are many ETFs that trade treasuries. LBND for example, is a 3 times leveraged long on treasuries ETF that gets traded very infrequently so the game will limit the number of shares you can buy. SBND is its opposite. There are better treasury ETFs.
Thanks Hygro. I went with the iPath long bear T-bill ETF.
Woot woot, the markets are back up again. Time to make some money
Wel not for me, since one company is giving me nearly a 12% loss.
A put on volatile tech company
Can't be giving away my secrets... don't worry though it lost nearly half its value before I could sell it today
How expensive does a stock have to be in order to buy it?
Well this is about learning and no it is a not a tech company, but an Energy company. There was a chance on the day I bought to have made a $2,000 profit on the stock, but I did not take it and now I have lost nearly $14,000 on it and most of it is from today.
Oh and another thing: do I not appear on the rankings chart?
$1 to buy, $5 to short.
Separate names with a comma.
