I'm always in doubt about that every time I see someone argue about creationism..

But I can assure you this is undeniable photographic evidence of a live dinosaur!
I might have bad eyesight but what part of the pic is supposed to be a dino?

A new expedition to dinosaur valley found even more interesting creatures, this time they have some pics of the female counterpart.

Spoiler astounding evidence of a female dinosaur foot :

Btw, Phlegmak, what is your reasonable explanation for people who have posted in these threads supporting creationism?

Fervent religious belief. A desire to go to Heaven. If god is perfect and Christianity is the true religion, then parts or all of the Bible must be true; therefore, the creation story is true.

All or most of the above would be my reasonable explanation.

Disproving cherished beliefs will never stop the believers from believing. There are an infinite number of examples of that happening. Here is one.

In case you don't have 44 minutes to watch: James Randi disproved water divining by some Australian water diviners. Afterwards, all of the water diviners continue to believe that water divining is real.

Hey, the Wiki article mentions the Randi experiment.

I think it is obvious why the average creationist is a creationist. There can only be a couple of reasons.

  • they have been brainwashed to be so since they have been a kid.
  • they find it more emotionally acceptable to believe that they were created by some super-human agent than just a random accident
  • they would give up creationism if only they actually understood evolution.
  • some combination of the above three.

I actually have met at least one person who was in the 3rd category above.

on the contrary i have never met a creationist in real life - only on internet forums. ;)

And how would that be different from the message of the hoax site? It's the exact same arguments of evil atheist evolutionists attacking christian values, just with some extra juicy made up stuff, but the other sites are fully of made up stuff as well..

betazed - I had never encountered actual creationism until I saw people on this forum talk about grazing lions..

The closest I came to a Creationist encounter in RL was at the San Francisco zoo, when I heard a wife telling her husband, "don't you wish you could go back to the very beginning, where all the animals were still alive?"
The comment is borderline plain scientifical ignorance, but hey, I said it was the closest :)
