Nah, I'm autodidactic. It's working well for me too. Allright, I'll write it out if you like :)

Screaming is not singing, but it still is music.

See, more acceptable, same quality of rebuttal. Only mine was more economic. Untill this post that is :p

I don't know about "complex", but I find it far more "fascinating" that something with 3 chords could be as appealing as 40 men playing different notes in different tempos on different instruments for 7 looooong minutes. To get something that mind-blowing from something so simple is just incredible, to me.

"Necessary and sufficient"; Punk is the definition of music :D

    What is music then?

Simple. Music is in the ear of the beholder.

So such a statement is basically pointless..

Not picking on you Mirc; you just gave the cleanist post to quote

Dude, listen to absolutely anything by Iron Maiden during the Bruce Dickinson days (try Fear of the Dark), or the Who's heavy period (try Won't Get fooled Again), and tell me that's not singing.

I never said it was metal-I cited it as an example of a song where screaming is used very musically.
Though the Who did in a way perform the first metal album with Live at Leeds.
