And actual conversation between two students at my highschool that I overheard:

"Obama is a Muslim!" "No he's not, he's a Hindu!" "So what? Muslims and Hindu's come from the same country!"

How could I make this stuff up? What sad is there are actually LOTS of people this ignorant. You would be surprised at the amount of people that actually think Obama is Muslim.

And while I'm at it: You all can have your own opinion but I think at least SOME of Obama's critics are attacking him just because of the color of his skin. Seriously, he's getting blamed for issues that aren't even his fault.

Now I do not consider myself to be much of an Obama supporter (even with all of this being said) but you have to keep in mind he went into office with the country being a mess. It's not like HE made it a mess. Anyone agree? Disagree? Discuss.

If it's that high school people are stupid. That's certainly true, but then, all kinds of people of all ages are stupid. Learning how to accept it and move on is just part of life. You aren't really going to change their stupidity more often than not (especially if they're willfully ignorant), so you're really just better off learning either to ignore it, or to derive lulz from it.

As for Obama getting a bad rap. Every president gets a bad rap. This kind of stuff really isn't that different from democrats equating Bush Jr. with Hitler, or implying that he was mentally ******ed.

Of course every president has his enemies. Even George Washington had his attackers! I did not say ALL of Obamas critics are racist but SOME of them are. I don't agree that most high schoolers are stupid. However a good amount of them are just unwilling to educate themselves a teeny tiny bit about anything not related to Jersey Shore or Tim Tebow.

You should definitely read Catcher In the Rhye if you haven't. Ugh all those phonies just fill the day up with struggz.

But yeah I've found golf enthusiast that take FOX News or Sarah Palin seriously are almost painful to listen to and will bring out the cattiness in me.

Well, to be fair, it's no better than the people who thought Obama'd be super-awesome simply because he was black or, likewise, Hilary because she's a woman.

And, to be even more fair, those who thought McCain'd be awesome because he was a war vet. Yes... being a soldier makes you TOTALLY qualified to give the orders instead of receiving them as you did before...

What's shocking is not that people dislike Obama (it isn't difficult to despise the ground he walks upon, apparently) is the complete lack of anything resembling geographic/religious knowledge. I could tell you where most of the countries of the world were when I was thirteen and that is normal for Year 9s.
