This is a classic case of brown skins having to prove they have the heroic masculine fighting qualities of the white man before being treated with respect by said white man.

I call shenanigans on that. Not even Bush would be so crass as to blame every president but him for the war he started.

It's true that GWB has taken up painting as a hobby post-presidency, but 100% that is photoshopped. Kind of stupid too because it's not even believable.

It's not supposed to be believable. It is a famous meme, and Bush only does painting 101 stuff, not Spiderman pointing at each other.

Anyway, it is relevant, not in terms of Bush personally blaming others, like @Samson says. But the media is basically ignoring Bush entirely, despite it being him that botched the war. By the time Biden came in, there was nothing to do, but a messy withdrawal, or an immense escalation. Both Obama and Trump got suckered by the war media, and military, into kicking the can down the road, and escalating. Obama with the surge, and Trump with the full-scale bombing.

The establishment media is insanely Hawkish, and they have personally driven so much of the distrust in media in general, but still refuse to learn their lesson.

It seems to me they totally have learnt the lesson that it works to make them money. one way or another.

And I did thing 30 seconds after I posted that it was not supposed to be taken seriously, but you know, Poe's law.

Been looking at the big international thefts accompanying "regime change", after Libya had about half a trillion dollars stolen when Qaddafi was overthrown.

Afghanistan being poor, there were only about 10 billion US$ to be stolen by western government's. They've already announced it done. Lesson for all countries: do not deposit any funds with US-controlled institutions.

I wonder if anyone got to steal this?

Hopefully cash was lighter and the fleeing puppets took that instead. Still there's the danger of it ending up molten this time :(

there is this post on the previous page that blames NATO for the corruption of the Afghan Goverment . Them NATO is America's lap dog and it is like on the American contractor who gets bloated contracts to maintain equipment and as soon as the contractors have a cold or drunk the previous night , availability plummets . The lack of firepower on one encourages the less equipped , makes them bolder , which then turns into this vicious spiral . Not exactly surprising that of the equipment the flip flopping Taliban captured , they have immediately managed to start using Hip helicopters . Which Afghans have only because of immense grumbling and the cooling down of the relations between Russia and America have hurt the Afghan fleet , because Americans would never manage to sell Blackhawks to Kabil , if they didn't entirely control the Afghan budget ...

translation : Afghan corruption , while native to the land , has immensely prospered under Washington DC corruption .

The delicate flowers of the "national security" establishment in the US are traumatized, traumatized! :run:

If Biden had more guts he should just say they're useless idiots as advisers, whose predictions turned entirely wrong, and fire them all. Then they're be traumatized.

Biden was set up. This fiasco was meant as a lesson to him not to interfere with affairs of state.

This will work out very well for Joe Biden.

He will be seen as the President who ended an expensive nonsense.

No, the worst is yet to come. Taliban control access to the escape route, they will let pass all the grifters and parasites they don't want, while filtering out the valuable hostages.
Meanwhile the US has set up its pieces for a re-enactment of Bien Dien Phu.

The article spends a lot of time saying that a number of agencies are attempting to figure out what to do in the event of armed conquest, including how to distribute COVID aid, but man was that a razor quote tool.
