The Rasberry Pi

    I recently ordered a rasperry pi, has anyone else ordered one of these.

    Looking forwad to getting it, a processor the size of a credit card for less than 30 squid.

    I signed up for the updates on availability from Allied Electronics, and I'll put it this way: when I signed up it was probably around 32 Fahrenheit outside, and today it's 106 Fahrenheit outside... so I'm not holding my breath on getting one of those.

    Well, then. I just got an email from Allied saying they have them in stock now.

    edit - "*Please note that the estimated delivery time will be 10–12 weeks."

    Meh...

    There are better computers, and there are better toys for electronics. What's the point of putting the two together and failing to make the best of either?

    What innonimatu said. I really don't see the point in the Raspberry Pi. It can't do half the things that my crappy old HTC Hero can do, and you can probably pick a 2nd hand Android up for a similar price anyway. Oh, so the hardware is open source too? Big freaking deal...

    I just don't see the point.
