Long time lurker, first time poster. I thought I'd have my first post me the first chapter of a story. RFC has always been my favorite mod for BTS and DOC has always been my favorite modmod of rfc. So without further adieu, here is The Rise of the Third Reich
Quick Note: I am Jewish and thus obviously do not condone any of the atrocities that were committed by the real Third Reich. However, in this alternate history, Germany won WW1, so it is unlikely that a Hitler-type figure would have risen to power anyway.
1700 A.D. was the beginning. The people from the proud Germanic state of Prussia came together to form a unified Germany. In doing so, they annexed former Polish lands which lead to war between the burgeoning Prussian Kingdom and the declining Polish Empire. With superior technology, the Prussians easily crushed Poland and ended up taking over all of their lands in 3 short years. This legitimized Prussia to many of the leading powers of the world. At first countries such as England and Russia viewed Prussia as a weak country doomed to fail, now they saw a new military power- and by that extension a new threat.
Next in 1742, Prussia invaded Italy, whose culture was spreading dissent in Prussian holdings in Austria. The invasion was a huge success and within 6 years, Italy was under complete German control.
In 1750, Germany clashed with the archaic Ottoman empire, and won spectacularly. By 1760, they had assumed control of the Balkands, Greece, the Bosporous and western Anatolia. The Ottomans collapsed soon after.
In 1888, a great war was fought between two different alliances the Axis and the Allies. The Axis consisted of The United States of America, England, Russia and Prussia. The Allies consisted of France, Holland and Spain. Prussia did not wish to gain any territory in the war, instead they simply worked on infrastructure and industrialized. The war ended when Russia captured Amsterdam, the United States captured San Antonio and England captured the French city of Cheoburgh. The Axis dissolved soon after, it was clearly an alliance of necessity and with no need for cooperation between the nations, there was no need for a military alliance.
Though technically the Axis won the Great War, the biggest winner was by far Prussia. While the other countries had been building up their military, Prussia industrialized. Their production output soared through the roof with railroads and factories being built around the country. It was a time of great prosperity for Prussia. Though n 1902 the Ottomans declared Sovereignty, theyquickly vassalized to the Prussians.
France, on the other hand, was the biggest loser. The French countryside had been scorched by war and many of her colonies had declared independence. France would never truly recover, despite the people of Amsterdam revolting to France from their Russian masters.
Now this prologue may seem lengthy, but it is important to discuss the events that eventually culminated in World War 2.
1934 was a glorious year for the Germanic peoples. A nationalistic revolution had swept through Prussia and the empire was rechristened the Third Reich to pay homage to the various peoples that comprised the mighty superpower, with the popular and brilliant Frederick III assuming the role of supreme chancellor. The end of the revolution was celebrated with the construction of an Olympic park in Frankfurt, catapulting the Third Reich into a golden age. The secrets of Industrialism had been discovered along with new military technology such as rolling, heavily armed vehicles known as "tanks." And the Third Reich had just annexed independent Sweden to be part of its empire.

In 1934, Emperor Meiji of Japan approached Frederick with an interesting offer- the Japanese would give up supreme control of their country to Germany and in return the powerful Germanic army would provide protection for the Japanese. The catch- Japan was currently at war with the world’s leading superpower of the time, Spain.
The international community had ignored Japan’s cry for help, nobody wished to anger the Spanish. Spain and her vassals controlled the entirety of South America as well as Mexico, California, Nevada, Southern France and the Philippines. However, to everybody's surprise, Frederick accepted Japan’s offer.
Frederick and his advisors were confident that Germany’s advanced military would be able to fend off any attacks made by Spain’s troglodytic army consisting of cannons and rifleman. Immediately after hearing of Germany’s acceptance, Spain declared war on Germany and sent a major invasion forces towards German controlled Italy.
1935 marked the year in which the first panzer tank was manufactured in Frankfurt, Germany. At the time, only Germeny knew of tank technology and Frederick would go on to use that to his advantage. An up and coming general from Berlin, Erwin Rommel, lead the new "panzer" tank division. Rommel would eventually become legendary for his tactical skill on the battlefield.
The Spanish Army took shelter in neutral French territory, where France refused to allow Germany to attack the Spanish. Germany wished to declare war on France right then and there, but was wary of international rebuke from ignoring the Non-Aggression Pact clause of the treaty Germany had signed with France 8 years prior. The Germans vowed to attack France soon.
Spain was confident that they would be able to blockade and eventually capture Italy and stunt Germany’s growth. But they severely underestimated the power of technology. German modern artillery tactics tore the Spanish army to shreds and Infantry and Panzer tank divisions moved in on Spain’s invasion force, completely destroying it. Rommel first proved himself as a general here, taking out 2 Spanish rifleman battalions by himself.
The planned Spanish blockade of Italy was one of the most disastrous failures in the naval history. Incorrect Spanish intelligence concerning the German navy convinced Philip II of Spain to only send a force of 4 frigates towards German waters. The German navy had been modernized only months prior to the naval assault, but the new destroyers and submarines that comprised the Germanic Mediterranean fleet were able to sink the entire Spanish navy without suffering a single casualty.
By 1836, Germany was on the offensive, sieging the Spanish city of Marseille.
Meanwhile, Frederick was weary of Russia’s conquering of the independent Finnish and Norwegian cities. German military presence in Sweden was negligible and Frederick knew that Russia would not hesitate to attack Germany. Russia was extremely angered by German cultural presence in Finland and the former dutch city of Lübeck.
Frederick decided to reallocate infantry divisions from the Balkands to Kalmar, the provincial capital of German Sweden. He also built up his forces in Poland.
In 1938, German Artillery barrages coupled with naval support finally broke down the defenses of Marseilles. The Germany army, again lead by Rommel, captured the city with minimal causalities. Seeing no value in keeping it, Frederick decided to burn Marseilles to the ground. Meanwhile in Asia, Japanese forces had captured the northern Philippines. Humiliated, the Spanish signed a peace treaty heavily in favor of the Germans.
Today, the sacking of Marseille is regarded as a monumental turning point in history. It was the first major victory for Erwin Rommel, it marked the beginning of the end for the Spanish Empire, and most importantly of all- it marked the beginning of The Rise of the Third Reich.
