In the year 4000 BC the nomadic people of Rome were ready to settle down and start a great civilization.

The Roman people found this a good spot to settle, and so they made the first city and named it Rome.

Holy mother of God! We are surrounded by vicious elephants! Better research hunting and show them who's on the top of the food chain. And its a good idea to start training a warrior to defend our new city. We also discovered a small tribal village near our borders, time to show them who's boss! We send our best (and only) warrior to clubber some civilization into them.
After a little while our warrior arrives, and after some "diplomatic talks" the villagers gave us a new technoly called the wheel. Very interesting technology I might add, for example it will allow us to build roads.

While our warrior is still exploring the surroundings of Rome, the Roman borders expand, and reveil a second tribal village. Our warrior excels in convincing the locals to "give" us stuff, so we send him on his way.

While our warrior is on his way rome has completed the training of the warrior, and now starts building a barracks to give our troops more training, but when the city reaches size 3 we will begin to train a worker to improve the land.
Meanwhile our other warrior has reached the tribal village, lets see what they got.

Aha, great. Experience. Might come in handy against that lion we just spotted over there in the hills.
We promote him twice to woodman I and woodsman II. After being promoted our warrior unit runs into the nearby woods where the lions follow them. Minutes later the lion is on the list of endangerd animals. We let our warriors heal before sending them out again.
In the meantime Rome has grown to size 3 and we switch production from barracks to worker. We have completed research on hunting, so when our worker is trained he can immidiatly start building a hunting camp near the elephants, and connect them with a road to our city. We now start researching agriculture so we can harvest the corn to the north of our city.
Then out of the west comes another warrior, from a different civilization! They call themselves the Cinese.
We agree to peace for the time being, better start expanding soon or we might be speaking chinese in the future.
Our warrior is fully healed, and we decide to sent him in the direction where the chinese warriors came from, to see how much breathing space we have.
We now have finished training a worker, and send him to build a camp near the elephants, and then connect it to our capitol with a road. Our city is now again building the barracks, but when the city grows to size 4 we will train a settler to settle the red encirceled spot. This will prevent the chinese from coming through there, becouse our culture will block them.
Our warrior has reached the borders of china, and can get a glimpse into there territory.

As you can see it will be necaserry for the Roman Empire to take the spot mentioned earlier to block the chinese, and maybe take the gems close to their border, but that seems unlikely.
In the meantime our worker completed the camp and pave a road to Rome, citizens enjoy there ivory and elephant meat. Becouse it takes 8 more turns to research agriculture we have time to make another camp and connect it to rome, after that we will farm the corn.
Rome has reached size 4 and work has begun on a settler, after the settler is complete we will train a warrior to escort it. North from the chinese we ran into another civilization, the greeks. We have peace now, but they may be trouble in the future.
We completed research on farming and now we started on archery to defend our cities, after that we will research bronze working and iron working to make formidable armies to defend our borders.
We have discovered 3 more civilizations. The germans, the japanese and the egyptians. But we have not yet located there cities. Our warrior will explore more to find them.
And we completed a settler and a warrior and made our second city "Antium" we have succeeded in blocking the other civilizations to trespass on "our" lands.

Our worker also comleted the farm and now our citizens are enjoying corn and elephant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He will now take the other elephants, as they will prove to be a valuable trade recource.
We made another cith east of cumae to take some gems, it is however close to the chinese. And we also discovered that we are indeed on a peninsula.

We researched bronze working and now switched to mysticism instead of iron working becouse ironworking would take 40 turns and we can produce no buildings other than barracks, so we are pumping out archers like crazy.
Our scout found another sweet spot to block a rival. We will have to settle in crappy lands, but the hills and the pigs will make it a "soso" city. The reason to settle here is, is to block the egyptians, and have a panama canal for our ships. Hope we are not to late to send a settler there.
